William Bradley ‘Brad’ Pitt, who is regarded as one of the most important people in Hollywood, initially gained notoriety for playing a cowboy hitchhiker in ‘Thelma & Louise’. This led to roles in the films ‘Legends of the Fall’ and ‘A River Runs Through It’. As Jeffrey Goines in “12 Monkeys,” he was nominated for his first Academy Award. Since then, Pitt has starred in a number of films showcasing his captivating on-screen persona and adaptable acting skills, including the action thriller “Bullet Train,” the historical drama “Troy,” the heist film “Ocean’s Eleven,” the romantic crime drama “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” and David Fincher’s crime film “Seven.”
Pitt was nominated for Academy Awards for his outstanding performances in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and “Moneyball,” but it wasn’t until he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” that he was able to take home the acting trophy. Pitt has left our readers wondering what to anticipate from him after playing Jack Conrad in “Babylon,” given his stature and lucrative career.
He Wanted the Moon (TBA)
The upcoming medical drama film “He Wanted the Moon,” which stars Brad Pitt as a lead character and has him serving as producer, is an adaptation of the memoir “He Wanted the Moon: The Madness and Medical Genius of Dr. Perry Baird, and His Daughter’s Quest to Know Him,” written by Dr. Perry Baird’s daughter Mimi Baird and Eve Claxton. The story will centre on Dr. Perry Baird, a rising star in medicine in the late 1920s and early 1930s, who publishes his groundbreaking experiments by researching the molecular cause of manic depression. The film’s director has not yet been revealed. Tony Kushner is attached to write the same. Tony Kushner co-wrote Steven Spielberg’s “Munich,” “Lincoln,” and “The Fabelmans.” There has been no progress on the project since it was announced in February 2016.
Untitled Formula One Racing Movie (TBA)
Pitt is slated to play the lead role in another Apple TV+ sports film, this one centred around Formula One racer Sonny Hayes from the 1990s. Hayes is forced to retire from Formula One after suffering a terrible accident during one of his races. But then he receives a call from a friend of his who owns a Formula One team, asking him to return to the racecourse and mentor Joshua Pearce, a rookie prodigy on the Apex Grand Prix team. Pitt portrays the seasoned Hayes, and Damson Idris, of “Snowfall” fame, is Pearce. In addition, Pitt is involved in the project as a producer.
Director Joseph Kosinski (of “Top Gun: Maverick” fame) is behind the camera. The action movie, which also stars Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Lewis Hamilton, was almost immediately put on hold in July 2023 because of the ongoing SAG-AFRTA strike. We may not need to anticipate that the movie will be finished and released before early 2025, as it is unclear when the shooting will restart.
Wolfs (TBA)
Brad Pitt and George Clooney will work together again as they both have roles in Jon Watts’ thriller “Wolfs,” which will air on Apple TV+. We can tell you that the story revolves around two lone-wolf professional fixers who are assigned the same job, despite the fact that most storyline elements are kept under wraps. In addition to playing one of the unidentified leads, Pitt serves as one of the producers for the production. Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan are also featured in the movie. The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has reportedly caused the production of the thriller, which was set to begin in January 2023, to come to an abrupt halt. Therefore, given the postponement of filming, we should anticipate the movie’s release before the end of 2024.
