One of the most admired characters on CBS’ thriller series “NCIS” is Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David. Ziva, a Kidon unit agent for Mossad, has joined NCIS as a liaison officer. Leroy Jethro Gibbs and others free her from them even though she returns to become a Mossad spy once more, making it possible for her to be posted as an NCIS agent. It is said that Ziva perishes when her farmhouse is destroyed.
In the seventeenth season, Ziva eventually makes a brief appearance in Gibbs’ life while still alive in order to take out those who attempted to kill her. Fans have been curious about Cote’s current whereabouts and the likelihood that she will make a comeback to the show as Ziva because it has been a while since she departed the series. Here is what we can share with you regarding the same, though!
Where is Cote de Pablo Now?
Cote de Pablo joined the cast of “The 33,” which centres around the 2010 Copiapó mining catastrophe, as Jessica Vega after departing from “NCIS” in the eleventh episode of the programme. She also appeared in the historical drama “The Dovekeepers” on CBS. Cote then joined the cast of the drama pilot “Prototype,” which was never picked up by Syfy as a series. The actress collaborated with fellow “NCIS” actor Michael Weatherly in 2018 to executive produce CBS’ unproduced detective drama “MIA.” The actress hasn’t yet joined any other TV shows after making a brief appearance in “NCIS” in 2019–2020.
‘Seneca,’ in which Cote portrays Celeste, is among her most recent filmography credits. She appears in the short film “The Crossing” as well. Cote has used her celebrity to raise awareness of a number of pertinent issues, including housing by collaborating with Un Techo Para Mi Pas, a group that works to provide temporary housing for the homeless in her native Chile, and cancer diagnosis by producing a PSA that addresses the early detection of cancer. Cote keeps every aspect of her personal life very confidential. Even her social media accounts are nonexistent.
Will Ziva Return to NCIS?
Ziva’s fans have been speculating about her possible return to “NCIS” ever since Cote de Pablo left the series. When the actress made a quick cameo appearance for the seventeenth season, their concerns were allayed. Since Ziva is still alive, fans have been hoping to see the character make another appearance, as well as hoping to see more of the actress. The character might come back, according to showrunner Steve Binder. Binder told TVLine in 2020, “[…] we’re certainly always open to it.” There aren’t any present plans for the same, though. We truly have exhausted our options in terms of playing [with Ziva] at this point, so we don’t currently have any intentions, said Binder.
Binder claims that the plot of the show will determine if Cote will reprise her role as Ziva. “The response will always be, ‘Let’s not take Cote and stick her in. ‘Let’s come up with a story first, and see whether it’s something worthy of bringing that character back,'” the showrunner said to TVLine in the same interview. Cote has insisted that her return to “NCIS” is always a possibility as long as Ziva is alive ever since her initial departure in 2013. In 2013, Cote remarked, “The best thing about this final episode is that Ziva doesn’t die — the character can always come back.”
Although there are no current plans for Ziva’s comeback, Binder and Cote’s statements suggest that it is possible. We can have optimism that Cote would return to the show since she is still living the good life in Paris with her partner Anthony DiNozzo and daughter Tali.
