Cara’s appearance in the 1980 film “Renown,” which also featured her singing of the title song, catapulted her to international fame. According to BBC, she was a contender for Best Actress at the 1981 Golden Globe Awards. Additionally, she co-wrote and sang the well-known song “Flashdance…What a Feeling” from the dance movie “Flashdance” from 1983. The outstanding performer was rewarded for it with an Oscar for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
On November 1st, Cara’s publicist, Judith A. Moose, tweeted about the passing of her client. “She was a beautifully gifted soul whose legacy will live forever via her music and pictures,” she wrote in part. Her cause of death is currently unknown, but Moose added that it would be disclosed when it was known. The precise cause of Cara’s demise has now been made public.
