Jonathan Majors, who was in Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania, was arrested in New York City on Saturday for what police say was a fight with his girlfriend.

According to a statement given to PEOPLE by the NYPD, “On Saturday, March 25, 2023, at about 11:14 a.m., police responded to a 911 call in a flat near West 22nd Street and 8th Avenue, within the 10 Precinct.”

“A preliminary investigation found that a 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman got into a fight at home. The victim told the police that she had been hurt. The 33-year-old man was taken into custody without any problems. The victim’s head and neck were only slightly hurt, so she was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.”

Police found out who Majors was and wrote down that he was charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment. No one knew who the victim was.

Majors’s representative told PEOPLE, “He hasn’t broken any rules. We can’t wait to clear his name and make this right.”

Two years later, he was in The Last Black Man in San Francisco, which was released in 2019 and got him a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award.
