How Do Jovi & Yara From 90 Day Fiancé Afford Their Opulent Lifestyle?

  • DCS

Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya are one of the most popular 90 Day Fiancé couples, but some fans are curious about how they manage to keep their lavish lifestyle. Jovi and Yara were initially introduced to TLC audiences on season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé, when the Louisiana native visited Yara’s village in Ukraine. Despite their fast-paced romance, many people thought they were not only well-matched, but also entertaining. Jovi and Yara’s platforms have grown enormously since their first appearances on television, with nearly a million followers between them.

Since Jovi and Yara applied for Yara’s K-1 visa in 2018, a lot has happened for the couple. The couple married in February 2020 after Yara went to the United States to be with Jovi in New Orleans. In September of that year, their daughter Mylah Dufren was born. Jovi and Yara starred in the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? spin-off in 2021. It took place during their first year as parents. The pair has had their share of fights and disagreements, yet they’re still going strong. Some fans ask how the Dufrens can afford such a lavish lifestyle, given that they routinely travel around the world (and Yara is pursuing a profession in fashion and beauty).

Jovi was a bachelor when he met Yara, and he made a good living as a ROV (remotely operated vehicle) supervisor. Jovi, in essence, used technologies on shore to operate underwater robotics. Jovi had been with the same firm for over a decade when he joined the cast of 90 Day Fiancé. While Jovi never revealed his precise compensation, Glassdoor forecasts that the typical ROV Supervisor salary in May 2022 will be over $100,000. Jovi ultimately left his ROV job in January, though it’s assumed he simply moved on to a company that doesn’t require as much travel.

While Jovi’s ROV supervisor salary may allow him and his family to live in luxury, the couple has also made a lot of money from their roles in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise. According to InTouch Weekly, the original series’ American cast members earn $1,000 to $1,500 every episode, while the international half of the group supposedly earns nothing due to a lack of work permits. Nonetheless, with 19 episodes in 90 Day Fiancé season 8, Jovi may have collected anywhere from $19,000 to $28,500 (before taxes) from the show, which he could split with Yara. In addition, according to In Touch Weekly, the cast of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? earns a little more per episode. With 17 episodes in Season 6, it’s easy to assume that Jovi and Yara were generously compensated for their participation.

Jovi and Yara aren’t exactly broke, thanks to Jovi’s long-running underwater robotics career and the duo’s fame among 90 Day Fiancé enthusiasts. Jovi and Yara have enjoyed dressing up for events and travelling across the world since their first appearance on TLC, with Yara’s Instagram bio boasting about her journeys to 38 different countries. While the current couples on 90 Day Fiancé season 9 aren’t exactly winning over fans, Jovi and Yara continue to be one of the franchise’s most popular couples.
