What Is Happening With Jumanji 4? Is It Getting Made Or Not? Why The Delay!

“Jumanji” reached the modern era more than 20 years after audiences watched Robin Williams become engrossed in a mystic board game. A game that results in a life-or-death adventure is a recurring theme in the 2017 sequel “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. The four unaware youths are drawn in and turned into their respective avatars this time because it’s a computer game.

It was difficult to top the original 1995 movie, especially considering how long it took to make the sequel. Nevertheless, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” managed to compete, earning over $962 million globally (via Box Office Mojo). Due to the movie’s popularity, a sequel debuted in theatres in 2019.

The adolescents return to the game in “Jumanji: The Next Level,” along with some brand-new unfortunate victims. To the joy of devoted followers, Bebe Neuwirth, who portrays Nora, the aunt of Judy (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter Shepherd (Bradley Pierce) in the Robin Williams classic, also makes an appearance. Approximately $800 million were made for this movie globally, according to Box Office Mojo.

Since “Jumanji: The Next Level” was released over three years ago, fans have been wondering when the sequel will be released. There’s definitely room for more Dr. “Smolder” Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, and other favourite characters because the 2019 instalment doesn’t exactly conclude on a note of finality. Let’s investigate the potential causes of the delay.

The Jumanji team is busy with a 2023 holiday/action film

A long-awaited update on the status of the following “Jumanji” film was provided by Hiram Garcia, president of production at Dwayne Johnson‘s Seven Bucks Productions, in December 2021.
It will happen, he assured Collider. It will undoubtedly occur.

The main difficulty has been scheduling, though. A number of significant “Jumanji” franchise participants, including Johnson, director Jake Kasdan, and Seven Bucks Productions, are currently preparing for a new endeavour. In late 2023, “Red One,” which also stars Chris Evans and Kieran Shipka, will be available on Prime Video. Garcia made a suggestion in the Collider interview that “Red One” is a Christmas movie that draws inspiration from “Hobbs & Shaw” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

According to IMDB, Johnson is now working on a remake of “Big Trouble in Little China,” “The King,” “San Andreas 2,” and “Doc Savage.” Johnson discussed the significance of just engaging in activities that he is enthusiastic about in an interview with CNN. He declared that “time is our most important and valuable money.”

Garcia’s comments suggest that a future “Jumanji” movie is indeed worth Johnson’s attention. The team has a strong pitch, the producer told Collider, and at the time of his interview, they planned to start writing the script soon. “Jumanji” will be on deck once it’s ready to go and we have a tremendously large vision for that movie, according to Garcia, perhaps after ‘Red One.
