Born Keanu Charles Reeves on September 2, 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon, to a Hawaiian father and an English mother, Keanu Reeves is an actor, singer, producer, and philanthropist.
Keanu and his mother moved to Toronto when their father abandoned them, where they later became residents of Canada.
Reeves was a standout hockey player in high school, but he decided to pursue acting after appearing in his school’s production of Romeo and Juliet.
He rose to fame in 1994 after starring in the action film “Speed,” which won two Academy Awards and launched Keanu Reeves into a number of significant roles, including the “The Matrix” trilogy.

The historical “The Matrix” trilogy gave Keanu Reeves the role of Neo, for which he is perhaps best known, and he was cast in the movie after Will Smith declined.
He received a $10 million advance for his lead role but was also offered a backend payment. As a result of the film’s unexpected popularity, he received an additional $35 million for the first instalment.
