Kevon Looney of the Golden State Warriors has been dealing with an injury for some time now. The latest news is that he sprained his left ankle during the team’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, May 11th, 2023. As a result, he will miss at least the next couple of games.
Before Thursday’s game, Looney’s status had been upgraded from probable to available. Despite a recent back injury, he had started in the past six games and had not missed a game this season.
The Warriors haven’t given any updates on Looney’s injury or possible return to playing.
But, it seems that he’s recovering well since he was reported to have fully recovered from his core muscle surgery earlier this year.
The question on fans’ minds: Will Looney take the court against the Houston Rockets on Monday? While it’s too soon to say for sure, his progress over the next few days should reveal whether or not they’ll get the answer they’re hoping for.
Kevon Looney’s injury recovery is going well. Despite his illness, he appears to be making progress and we hope he will be able to recover fully soon. His return to the Golden State Warriors court is eagerly anticipated.
What kind of hip surgery did Kevon Looney have?
In August 2015, No. 30 overall draft pick Kevon Looney had surgery on his right hip and in April 2016, he had surgery on his left hip to repair a torn labrum.
At the Vail Valley Surgery Center, renowned Steadman Clinic orthopedic surgeon Dr. Marc Philippon performed both surgeries.
During Looney’s recovery from surgery, the Warriors announced that his left hip operation was successful.
As a key member of the Warriors, Kevon Looney’s surgeries play into the story of how he has become an essential part of their core.
Before Looney had been in the NBA for a whole season, he underwent surgeries on each hip to repair a torn labrum, holding him to only five games played during his rookie season.
Despite this setback, Looney has since become an integral part of Golden State’s success, playing an important role in their championship run in 2018-2019.
