Killers of the Flower Moon, the eagerly awaited murder drama from Martin Scorsese, has finally been given a release date. It will now have its limited debut on Friday, October 6, 2023. On October 20, Killers of the Flower Moon will receive a broader distribution. After that, Apple TV+ will stream the film internationally. All of this will occur after Killers of the Flower Moon premieres at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in May.
The nonfiction film Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Origins of the FBI, directed by Martin Scorsese from a script by Scorsese and Eric Roth, will examine the actual murders that occurred in the Osage Nation in the 1920s following the discovery of oil on tribe grounds. The event led to a significant FBI investigation that was overseen by a 29-year-old J. Jesse Plemons, star of Breaking Bad and The Irishman, will portray Tom White, a former Texas Ranger, and Edgar Hoover.
The cast is a significant factor in why Killers of the Flower Moon is so eagerly anticipated. Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro will appear alongside Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese in the film. DiCaprio will play a man named Ernest Burkhart, and De Niro will play Burkhart’s uncle, American cattleman and convicted murderer William Hale.
Brendan Fraser, a recent Oscar winner, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Jack White, and John Lithgow are among the other actors in the cast.

We might finally get to see more of Killers of the Flower Moon now that a release date has been set. We have only seen one picture of Leonardo DiCaprio as Mollie Burkhart, Ernest’s wife, with Lily Gladstone so far. Costume designer Jacqueline West recently shared what DiCaprio thinks of the project while we wait for more photographs and details.
“I was discussing it with Leo. When I arrived here, we had lunch,” she said. “Jackie, I believe we created a masterpiece, he added. Leo saying that, I assumed, meant something. He isn’t joking when he says that. He has worked in the industry since he was a young lad.
DiCaprio and Scorsese collaborate on Killers of the Flower Moon for the eighth time, and with a rumoured $200 million budget, the film has all the makings of one of the year’s best films.
As a result, for those in the back, Killers of the Flower Moon will now debut in select theatres on October 6, followed by a broader release on October 20. Then, the Western murder drama will be available on the streaming service Apple TV+.
