Killing Eve Cast And Character Guide And The Actors Who Played The Main Roles

“You should never identify a psychopath as such. It bothers them.” Villanelle, one of the most mysterious, fashionable, and fascinating characters on television, frequently utters sassy remarks like “That’s just one of the many juicy sentences that slide out of the lips.” Villanelle and Eve are a lethal dynamic couple who, no matter how hard they try (or pretend to try), can’t manage to shake each other. It’s been two long years since we spent some risky quality time with them. Killing Eve, created for the film by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and based on the serial novella by Luke Jennings, features MI5 analyst Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) as she becomes involved in an unsolved case featuring expert assassin Villanelle (Jodie Comer). Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw), the covert MI6 division chief, hires Eve to find the patterns in the worldly assassin’s conduct and put a stop to her high-profile assassinations.

Eve neglects all of her obligations outside of work and develops a relentless obsession with finding Villanelle. Villanelle and Eve begin to understand they might not be able to survive without one another as the series goes on due to their connection (and chemistry). The show has received 19 Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Drama Series, as well as for Shaw, Oh, Comer (who won), and the writing and performance in those roles. Old friends will return in the last season, and new people will be invited for one last exhilarating journey.

Let’s get to know the dangerously entertaining characters who will be taking over our screens for Killing Eve Season 4.

Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw)

The stern-lipped head of MI6’s Russian department is Carolyn Martens. Carolyn enlists Eve’s assistance in finding the assassin (Villanelle) after she shows interest in the case and offers some novel insights. Because the operations are frequently carried out clandestinely and without official government approval, Carolyn’s investigations frequently land her, her coworkers, and her loved ones in serious danger. She appears to have a number of ex-boyfriends, but her relationships with her kids, Geraldine and Kenny, the latter of whom is…dead?, are strained and frigid.

In addition to her roles in Mrs. Wilson, True Blood, Ammonite, and Baptiste, Fiona Shaw is best recognised for her portrayal of Petunia Dursley in the Harry Potter movies. Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Steve Carell, she will appear in John Krasinski’s films If and Hot Milk, respectively.

Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh)

Oh Eve, you innocent, tenacious soul. Eve seems a little out of place in a meeting with her fellow MI5 employees when we first meet her. (She is less focused on the work at hand and more on her croissant.) But her ears perk up when she learns about a succession of murders committed by an enigmatic and elusive assassin. She believes the crew should focus more on the killer because she is positive it is a girl. She is abruptly removed from her position and hired by MI6 chief Carolyn Martens to go into the infamous case in more detail. This is the start of a journey full of unpredictability, death, heartbreak, irresistible chemistry, and conflicting emotions.

Known for her work on the long-running series Grey’s Anatomy and the most recent Netflix limited series The Chair alongside Jay Duplass and Holland Taylor, Sandra Oh is an actress who has received 12 Emmy nominations. Her next appearance will be in the upcoming movie Turning Red, which will be available on Disney+ on March 11. She provides the voice of Debbie Grayson in the popular Amazon Prime animated series Invincible.

Gunn (Marie-Sophie Ferdane)

Gunn is the last of the three new characters, and he is an assassin who is said to be “much more problematic than Villanelle,” which is…almost impossible. Even though Killing Eve is coming to a close, the show’s writers have been open about the prospect of spin-offs. Maybe a different series will chronicle Gunn’s experiences as a serial killer. Marie-Sophie Ferdane is a well-known actress best known for her roles as the lead in the French music thriller series Philharmonia and in the Netflix original film I Am Not an Easy Man.

Hélène (Camille Cottin)

The boss of Helene (Camille Cottin) Helene The Twelve recently received a promotion. To continue playing Villanelle’s employer in the last season, actress Camille Cottin was promoted to series regular. We don’t actually meet the mysterious Hélène until Season 3, despite the fact that she has always been said to be the mastermind behind Villanelle and Konstatin’s operations. Villanelle despises this woman and constantly tries to wriggle out of her slithering hold, but it never seems to work.

Cottin recently appeared in Tom McCarthy’s Stillwater and House of Gucci as interior designer Paola Franchi, costarring with Matt Damon. She also stars as one of the main characters in the Netflix-exclusive blockbuster French dramedy series Call My Agent!

Konstantin Vasiliev (Kim Bodnia)

Even at the loudest events, you can recognise his chuckle. As Villanelle’s handler and intermediary for the Twelve, the endearing Konstantin has been through a lot. Actually quite a softie, the dignified middleman frequently does more harm (and heart troubles) than good in his line of employment. Don’t forget that Konstantin is constantly stressed out over the fact that his real daughter, the naive and now deadly Irina (Yuli Lagodinsky), has spent much too much time alone with Villanelle while he isn’t worrying about his unofficial daughter Villanelle. Little Irina, whose recent actions had fatal results, now looks up to the cunning yet endearing assassin as a role model.

The Witcher and The Letter for the King on Netflix featured actor Kim Bodnia in recurring roles. The upcoming crime film Nefarious will feature him next.

Pam (Anja Vasan)

Actress Anja Vasan plays Pam, a rising assassin with a bully for a brother, as the second new series regular. She sees working in the family funeral home as a much-needed break from her difficult home situation. Anja Vasan portrays Sister Claire in Peter Dinklage’s musical period drama Cyrano as well as the Peacock series We Are Lady Parts.

Villanelle/Oksana (Jodie Comer)

Villanelle, the clever, fashionable, and sardonic stealth assassin with serious attachment issues, is one of Killing Eve’s two main characters. Although she was given the name Oksana at birth, Villanelle is her current name because she was raised by merciless killers. She rapidly develops a crush on Eve Polastri, the MI6 agent who is seeking to find her, which puts the two of them in a number of perilous and unexpected situations. The previous season turned out to be Villanelle’s most trying one yet as she dealt with her past, was imprisoned by the present, and attempted to forge a more secure future. Let’s not forget that she had an impromptu wedding (for like, a minute) and set off a raging family reunion.

Jodie Comer has starred in a number of British and American films, though she is probably best recognised for her Emmy-winning performance as Villanelle. She appeared in three critically acclaimed television shows, including My Mad Fat Diary, Thirteen, and Doctor Foster: A Woman Second. More recently, she shone alongside Ryan Reynolds in the blockbuster movie Free Guy and the historical epic The Last Duel directed by Ridley Scott. In the spring of this year, she will perform in Suzie Miller’s play Prima Facie on the West End for the first time.

Yusuf (Robert Gilbert)

Actor Robert Gilbert, who plays the “warm and charismatic” Yusuf, a former soldier who collaborates (quite closely) with Eve on a vengeance mission, joins the ensemble as a series regular. It’s safe to assume that Yusuf and Eve will be romantically involved given some of the strong language in the teaser.

Gilbert is well-known for his roles in Ready Player One, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and The Tragedy of Macbeth, the most recent film by Joel Coen.
