On “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Mary Warwick (Courtnee Draper) had a turbulent life. It didn’t help that her mother was the vile Sheila Carter, despite the fact that her father was the esteemed Dr. James Warwick (Ian Buchanan) (Kimberlin Brown).
James first arrived in Los Angeles in 1993 to assist the unstable Sheila. He was dating Maggie Forrester (Barbara Crampton) at the time, but Sheila made a concerted effort to end their relationship. In order to make James believe Maggie had abandoned him, she and her close friend Mike Guthrie (Ken Hanes) abducted Maggie. Sheila eventually released Maggie in an effort to prove to James that she had changed her ways after James got wasted and had sex with her. Later, Sheila arrived and revealed that she was expecting while James and Maggie were on their way to the altar. Later, Maggie collaborated with Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) to make Sheila insane after she attempted to kill the latter.
When the child was born, there was a custody dispute, but Sheila ultimately consented to James and Maggie raising Mary. James had been pretending to love Sheila in order to win her trust, but it quickly became clear that he was really in love with her. James and Maggie had a falling out, so he married Sheila to start a family with Mary. But even though James had grown friends with Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), Sheila had always fought with her. Sheila began committing her crimes once more because she was envious of Stephanie and James’ friendship. She was arrested for frightening Stephanie’s baby grandson, Thomas Forrester.
Mary tried to get in between Rick and Amber
While Stephanie Forrester had stepped in to act as Mary’s mother, Sheila soon escaped from jail and came to get her. The girl witnessed her attack Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz) while shooting Stephanie. James departed Los Angeles to try to find Sheila and Mary after Sheila had taken Mary and fled the city.
Years later, Mary flew to LA and began ingratiating herself into the Forrester family, unknowing of Sheila’s shady past and thinking her name was Erica Lovejoy as her mother had informed her. “Erica” had developed a passion for the world of fashion and admired Amber Moore in particular. “Erica” volunteered to help Amber in any way she need after learning that she and her husband, Rick Forrester (Jacob Young), had lost their child as a result of a miscarriage. She then pretended to be a teacher at the school where Zende Forrester (then Daniel Smith) attended, Rick’s nephew. In an effort to remain near Rick, “Erica” also succeeded in landing a position as a babysitter for the little “Little Eric” Sharpe, who was being raised by her and Rick as the late cousin of Amber.
Sheila approached “Erica” one day, wanting to take her back to Mystic, Connecticut, where they had previously resided. Sheila was thrilled, however, to find that Mary had established a strong relationship with the Forresters while posing as “Erica.”
Sheila managed to complicate things for Mary
After having a miscarriage, Amber Moore opted to bury her grief in drugs, and “Erica Lovejoy” planned to profit from this situation by getting close to Rick Forrester. “Erica” plotted with Sheila to get rid of Amber, but she was unaware that her mother had already assigned an actor by the name of Lance (Adam Huss) to assist in severing Amber and Rick’s relationship. Lance drugged Amber, and she thought “Erica” was responsible. The two women fought, and “Erica” stumbled and struck her head as a result. Sheila then killed Lance by inundating his home with bees, which he was severely allergic to, in order to conceal her crimes.
Later, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) interrupted Sheila’s holdover of Taylor Hayes (then Hunter Tylo) and Eric Forrester (John McCook), and the two women fought over the weapon. Sheila was detained after accidently shooting Taylor and Brooke during the altercation. By this time, “Erica’s” true identity as Mary Warwick had been exposed, and she had abandoned her plot to become pregnant with Rick. Mary also left town because she was so repulsed by Sheila’s recent behaviour and lifetime dishonesty.
In 2017, Mary was briefly referenced when she told her mother that James Warwick had been fraudulently writing himself prescriptions for narcotics. James eventually left town to avoid Sheila after she used this information to extort him. Mary should possibly travel back to Los Angeles now that Sheila has been cleared of the numerous crimes she has continued to perpetrate.
