Michelle Rubio: Where Is Cody Rhodes’ Mom Now? Tracing Her Life

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star Cody Rhodes (previously known as Cody Runnels) is the subject of Peacock’s documentary film “American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes.” The film follows Cody on his journey to build a life for himself and realise his family’s dreams. Michelle Rubio Runnels, Cody’s mother, is one of the most important people in his life. This woman’s commitment to her children’s life has earned her true respect. She is a strong, dedicated woman. People are naturally concerned about Michelle’s current whereabouts, and we are here to inform them of what we know.

Who is Michelle Rubio?

In 1978, Michelle Rubio wed Dusty “American Dream” Rhodes, also known as Virgil Riley Runnels Jr. He was previously married to Sandra McHargue, a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys, from 1965 to 1975. As a result, when he and Michelle got married, Dusty was already a father to two children, Kristin Ditto and Dustin Runnels (also known as Dustin Rhodes and Goldust). The wrestler continued to perform as a WWE star as the couple quickly built a life in Marietta, Georgia.dustin rhodes mom, cody rhodes mom passed away, michelle rubio dusty rhodes, michelle rubio rhodes, michelle rubio nationality

Michelle and Dusty welcomed Teil and Cody Rhodes, the latter of whom was born on June 30, 1985, as they began their new chapter of marriage. Shortly after, Dusty made the decision to leave the WWE because he wanted to spend more time with his younger children and regretted the time he had missed with his older ones. Michelle was deeply involved in her husband’s life as well as the lives of Teil and Cody, and she undoubtedly supported his choice.

Michelle made an effort to be there for Cody, who was also creating a reputation for himself. When he decided not to continue his education after high school, she persuaded him to try college. In the documentary, Michelle reveals that her son genuinely looked up to his father and was driven to win the WWE Championship in his memory. Regardless of how much Cody has learned from Dusty, it is clear that he equally values what his mother has to say. In fact, one of the key things keeping him from quitting when he became creatively unhappy with his Stardust arc in WWE was the knowledge that Michelle would not approve of it.

Dusty passed away on June 11, 2015, as a result of complications brought on by kidney failure. The family was deeply affected by the sudden turn of events, notably Michelle, who has been grieving the loss of the man she had called her husband for more than 35 years. Despite this, she has persisted and continues to play a vital role in the lives of those she loves. Due to her granddaughter’s wedding falling on the same day as Cody’s WWE comeback match on April 2, 2022, Michelle was unable to attend, but she still contacted him to express her support.

Where is Michelle Rubio Now?

Michelle doesn’t use social media and wants a life away from the spotlight. That hasn’t prevented her, though, from going to Cody’s games when she can. She never ceases to express her worry and irritation whenever she witnesses her son in peril or suffering harm. Michelle actually expressed her annoyance during the Royal Rumble 2023 when her son competed against Gunther. Similar to how she assisted her kid after a hump went bad during an All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Full Stuff 2019 event, she assisted her son with his forehead cut and administered his sutures.

As of the time of this writing, Michelle is actively involved in the operations of the Dusty Rhodes Foundation, a company founded in 2022 that aids young children in making a name for themselves in the sports industry. She frequently enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren. Michelle is a grandma to at least three people, including Liberty Runnels, Cody’s daughter, and Kellan and Maris Gergel, Teil’s children with her husband Kevin Gergel. We pray for the best for her and her loved ones and a bright future for them.
