This is the premise of the brand-new Naked and Afraid spin-off, Naked and Afraid: Solo, which EW has first dibs on.
The Naked and Afraid survivalists have withstood the worst surroundings on earth for 15 seasons and counting, demonstrating the need of cooperation in conquering challenging circumstances. As the name implies, eight of the most experienced survivalists from the genre will attempt to make it through 21 days by themselves in this brand-new series.
According to the official summary, the Discovery series will include intertwined tales set in some of the world’s most isolated and hostile situations, as well as in places dispersed over three continents. Each episode follows several survivalists as they take on the toughest challenge of their lives, whether it be in a bug-infested South American rainforest, a chilly African shrubland, or a scorching Mexican desert. Their survival is entirely dependent on their own resourcefulness, abilities, and drive to survive since they have no one to turn to for support. It’s challenging enough to spend 21 days naked with a spouse. Even the world’s most skilled survivalists will be put to the test by having to survive 21 days alone; many will fall.
Some of those fan favourites are obviously put to the absolute test in the first promo, which is exclusively debuting on EW above. One responds, “This is only an another degree of survival. The phrase “being alone out here stinks” is uttered by another person, while another claims that “solitude can be a form of pain.” And do we see a jaguar there?

Cheeny Plante –
Cheeny Plante is a jack-of-all-trades with experience working as a SERE teacher in the Air Force and has instructed her coworkers in battle-ready survival techniques. In South Africa, she had previously finished a 21-day challenge.

Fernando Calderon –
Francisco Calderon a father-of-four from Simi Valley, California who works as a fire captain and is married. He has never tapped and has always been with partners throughout his problems, maintaining a good attitude.

Jamie Frizzell, a no-nonsense lifeguard, explorer, and bushcraft instructor from Scotland, was tapped on day two of XL Next Level in the Amazon despite completing a 21-day Tribes challenge.

James Lewis is a Florida survivor from Tallahassee. He is motivated to complete this alone task for his lately deceased father for whom he is an expert trapmaker. James has finished both of the challenges he has taken on.
Kaila Cumings –
Kaila Cumings, a skilled bladesmith and dedicated bowhunter, is out to atone for her earlier tap-out during her Amazonian XL Next Level quest. Kaila had previously finished a 40-day challenge in South Africa and a 21-day challenge in Colombia.

Suzanne Zeta –
Mother of four from Virginia with a PHD who works in cancer research is Suzanne Zeta. She has experienced challenging situations before, whether they were related to her early life or her previous Naked and Afraid companions. In a 21-day challenge, Suzanne’s companion quit before the end, and in a 40-day XL challenge, she lost one partner on day two. Although Suzanne’s last XL partner was a persistent source of conflict, she was able to accomplish the challenge.
Shanika Malcolm –
Shanika Malcolm is a yoga enthusiast, a single mother of three kids, an innovator, a nurturer, and someone who feels deeply connected to nature. She is from Jamaica and the first woman of African descent to finish a 21-day challenge.
