National Treasure: Edge Of History To Premier On Dec 14, 2022 | All Details Here

In 2004, Disney released “National Treasure,” a brand-new action-adventure narrative, to theatre audiences. The film, starring the one and only Nicolas Cage as Benjamin Gates, follows him as he teams up with a few reliable comrades in an effort to find a buried treasure horde that was hidden away during the American Revolution years earlier. Since he famously takes the Declaration of Independence to access a clue concealed inside of it, the FBI and other treasure hunters try to stop him along the road, making Gates’ pursuit even more challenging and risky but also very amusing.

Since it was first released, “National Treasure” has gained popularity among viewers and even inspired a 2007 sequel called “National Treasure: Book of Secrets.” The series, however, has lain dormant for years outside of its direct continuity, but that is about to drastically change. The Disney+ streaming service is getting a follow-up series called “National Treasure: Edge of History,” in which Justin Bartha, who played Riley Poole in the first two movies, will reprise his role alongside newcomers Lisette Olivera and Lydon Smith, who will play Jess Valenzuela and FBI Agent Ross, respectively.

“National Treasure” fans have been curious about the show’s release date ever since it first surfaced in 2020. It has a release date at last.

Edge of History will arrive in December of 2022

Thankfully, there isn’t much longer to wait for those who want to see “National Treasure: Edge of History” as soon as possible. Disney+ announced on September 9, 2022, that the show’s first season will begin on December 14, 2022, with a two-episode launch (via TV Line). IMDb reports that from then, new episodes would be released every week, for a total of 10 for Season 1. We also received a brand-new poster for the Jess Valenzuela series starring Lisette Olivera, which is undeniably heavily influenced by the one for the first “National Treasure” movie, which prominently featured Ben Gates played by Nicolas Cage.

Speaking of Olivera and Cage, the former discussed taking over for the actor from “Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” as the new face of the “National Treasure” franchise in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“To have to replicate someone’s performance like Nic Cage is a terrifying concept. Olivera remarked, “It was intimidating, but I kept trying to reframe and focus as if it were just a challenge. I had to remind myself that most of the crew around me wasn’t brand-new to the “National Treasure” “universe. Particularly when her self-doubt was at its worst, they provided her with invaluable assistance and guidance.

Disney hasn’t given “National Treasure” fans anything in a while, so hopefully “National Treasure: Edge of History” will make up for the 15-year wait when it premieres on Disney+ this December.
