You won’t believe this, but Ned’s Declassified School Survival Handbook has been around for over 15 years now! We can’t believe how quickly time has passed since the first episode of the legendary Nickelodeon series aired on September 12, 2004!
We’re not kidding when we say that it seems like yesterday when we were watching Ned, Moze, and Cookie deal with the challenges of school, schoolwork, tests, relationships, drama, and everything else that comes with being a teenager. And, to be completely honest, we never fail to miss it.
But it wasn’t only viewers who missed the show; Devon Werkheiser recently posted advice on how to make it through adulthood on TikTok.
The actor talked about his efforts to launch a Ned’s Declassified remake in a video he made in May 2021.
“Bringing the Ned’s Declassified Adulthood Survival Guide remake to life has been a great dream of mine over the last two years,” he said in the video.
After all these years, Devon finally had a plot idea for the programme, which he described in detail to set the scenario.
Picture Ned, Moze, and Cookie finishing college and navigating their twenties while giving you advice on taxes, online dating, self-care, roommates, budgeting, and everything else, he said. I thought it would be fantastic to develop a self-help sitcom for a generation that could use a friend. I wanted it for you, I wanted it for me.
As the team tried to pitch the idea to Nickelodeon, Devon disclosed that it had actually been in the works for a long.
At the time, he said, “Cookie and Moze were on board, as were the original creators and producers, Scott and Michelle Fellows, but we don’t hold the rights to Ned’s Declassified. We pitched it to Awesomeness TV and Nickelodeon, who indeed hold the rights to it, but they rejected it and would not let us take it elsewhere to resell it.
Devon captioned the video, “I still think we can make it happen, even though the relaunch isn’t currently in the works. Who’s hurt?
He closed by saying, “Well, for now, the reboot’s gone and I’m terribly sad. Thanks for being fans.”
But what are the actors up to these days, you ask? We decided to do some research in honour of the occasion, and they have certainly accomplished a lot in the past 17 years! While some chose to leave the spotlight in order to concentrate on their schooling or start their own families, others went on to star in a huge number of films and TV shows. In any case, they have all advanced considerably.
