‘The Magic Order’ is a Mark Millar-penned comic book series that Netflix distributed under Image Comics. The property is the subject of a Netflix live-action production that has been in development for a while. ‘The Magic Order’ will reportedly be adapted for television at some point, and production on the first season is reportedly scheduled to begin in November 2023. The area around Chicago will be the primary location for production. A precise episode count and a potential release date for the fantasy drama series have not yet been disclosed by Netflix. In addition, if the strikes are not successfully resolved before November, they will probably have an impact on the production of the series. As a result, production might not start until at least 2024.
The rights to Mark Millar’s Millarworld comic book publisher were acquired by Netflix in 2017. After being acquired by the streaming juggernaut, Millarworld’s debut comic book series, “The Magic Order,” saw the light of day in June 2018. The series will be adapted into a live-action film, it was revealed in May 2019. Involved in the idea were James Wan (‘The Conjuring’) and Lindsey Beer (‘Sierra Burgess Is a Loser’), with Wan slated to direct the pilot episode and Beer to act as the showrunner.
It was stated that Netflix had decided not to move forward with the project because to Covid-19 constraints. The series was scheduled to begin filming in Prague, Czech Republic, in 2021. Following the cancellation of the original plans, Millar declared that the Netflix television adaptation of “The Magic Order” would resume production in May 2021. In a late 2022 update, Millar said that a writer’s room had been built up and that the first season’s scripts had begun to be written. Thus, it makes sense that the series will start manufacturing in 2023. Wan and Beer have gone on to other projects, thus it seems unlikely that they are still involved with the series.
