Netflix has formally announced the third season of Never Have I Ever, but we also have some unfavourable information for fans.
The hit show’s co-creator, Mindy Kaling, announced in March 2022 that it would return to our screens in the summer and have a fourth season. However, that will be the show’s last season.
But let’s not go ahead of ourselves too quickly. What is in store for Devi and her tangled love triangle with Ben and Paxton in the near future? And what sort of unruly behaviour might we anticipate in the upcoming season?
Here is all the information you need to know about season three of Never Have I Ever.
Never Have I Ever season 3 potential release date: When will Never Have I Ever season 3 air?
The release date for Never Have I Ever season three on Netflix has been set for August 12, 2022, as previously indicated.
This came after co-creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher had revealed through Twitter and Kaling’s Netflix profile that a fourth season was also in the works but will also be the show’s last.

Never Have I Ever season 3 cast: Who’s coming back?
The main cast members, led undoubtedly by Devi herself, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, will all return for more mischief in the upcoming season.
She will be accompanied by the two guys vying for her affection, Jaren Lewison, who portrays supernerd Ben, and Darren Barnet, who plays sports heartthrob Paxton.
Thankfully, Ramona Young, who is reprising her role as Eleanor, and Lee Rodriguez, who is reprising his role as Fabiola, will be on her side as well.
But naturally, Devi’s mother Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan) and cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani) from the Vishwakumar family will be there to help her navigate love and loss after the passing of her father.

Devi’s late father Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy), counsellor Jamie (Nicy Nash), Eve (Christina Kartchner), Aneesa (Megan Suri), Trent (Benjamin Norris), Prashant (Rushi Kota), Mr. Kulkarni (Utkarsh Ambudkar), and Mr. Shapiro (Adam Shapiro), are among the other minor characters that could make an appearance.
Additionally, John McEnroe, the tennis legend who portrays Devi’s inner monologue in Never Have I Ever, is the real major man in her life.
Anirudh Pisharody, a star of 9-1-1, will portray the recurring role of Des, an Indian American youngster who is as smart as Devi but enrols at an elite private school (via Deadline).
Never Have I Ever season 3 plot: What will happen?
When Devi attended the winter dance with Paxton in the season two finale after the two made their love public, everything fell into place for Devi.
He wanted to keep their late-night encounters a secret at first because he was worried about how his peers would react if they found out he had forgiven Devi for cheating on him, but it didn’t go over well with her, and she left him and his washboard abs.
Devi went to the dance alone without a man by her side, but once Trent dragged Eleanor away to the dance floor, she made the decision to leave.
Enter Paxton, who, after running her over with his jeep (really, what is with these kids? ), spilled his guts and offered us a classic Hollywood resolution, but that wasn’t quite how season two ended.
Eleanor revealed to Ben at the very end that Devi had been pining for him for the previous few weeks. She had been irrationally envious of Aneesa and, during the relay, had tried her absolute hardest to keep the two of them apart.
Eleanor remarked, “She wanted to pick you after you took her to Malibu. Just to be clear, he hasn’t always been the culprit.
Uh oh. The expression on Ben’s face revealed his continued devotion to Devi.
Ben and Aneesa’s relationship appears to be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean Ben and Devi will continue where they left off before things went south. Now that Paxton has returned, it is obvious that Devi adores him.
All of those and more were covered in detail here.
However, teaser images for season three that Netflix has already released appear to indicate that Devi and her love life are in for even MORE trouble.

Season three will likely cover some more complex subjects as well.
The upcoming season, according to co-creator Kaling, will have a more personal focus.
We’ve liked the scenes between Devi and her father, played by Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is amazing. “I lost a parent, and I think that loss and grieving is such a complicated thing and can take various forms,” she said.
“I believe that exploring their relationship and how your relationship with your parents endures even after they pass away is what I’m most looking forward to. We’re eager to investigate that.
She is a hilarious character who has good intentions but frequently makes bad choices. I enjoy watching her do that as she gets closer to college and tries to submit an application, as well as the changes it causes in her.
Given that we now know the programme will finish with season four, we might start to see the drama’s ultimate endgame play out in the upcoming season.
