Fans of the Outer Banks have a lot to be happy about this year. On February 23, the adored Netflix original drama will not only return for its third season; Season 4 of Outer Banks has also been confirmed by Netflix!
Outer Banks received a surprising renewal from streaming service Netlfix days before the program’s return, despite the fact that they don’t typically do so.
Cast members Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Carlacia Grant, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, and Drew Starkey surprised the fans in attendance by making a Season 4 renewal announcement on stage as the event neared its conclusion at the POGUELANDIA fan event in Huntington Beach, California.
Nothing short of miraculous could describe watching Poguelandia come to life. Co-creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, who will all be appearing in Season 4 of Outer Banks, said in a joint statement in response to the news, “The Pogues are experiencing the adventure of a lifetime, and we now get to map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season four of Outer Banks. “We are grateful to Netflix, our cast, and the great fans who made this possible,” the cast said.
Is Outer Banks season 4 the last season of OBX?
Fans of Outer Banks are understandably curious about what Netflix may have in store for the programme after its early renewal and whether this could be its final season. And given how many Netflix shows have terminated around their fourth season, it makes sense to be concerned. While it’s possible that Netflix will decide to cancel the show after its fourth season, all indications are that the show will go beyond that point.
Netflix did not advertise the news that Outer Banks had been renewed as a series finale when it made the announcement at the Poguelandia festival on February 18, 2023. This suggests the streaming provider does not currently have any plans to end the run of the programme in season 4.
Normally, when Netlfix renews a show for a final season, it will be obvious in the initial promotion of the renewal as a last season renewal. Consider how it handled the Stranger Things revival, for instance. Season 5 of Stranger Things was immediately described by Netflix as the show’s final season when the show’s renewal was announced, and the show’s creators expressed their wish to conclude the series with a final season the same day.
There hasn’t been any word of the Pogues’ career coming to an end with Outer Banks.
