Ray Liotta has been inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a well-deserved award that may have come a little too late because he wasn’t present for the ceremony. The ceremony honouring Liotta’s posthumous entrance onto the renowned promenade was held on the same day that his final film, Cocaine Bear, made its theatrical debut. The 2,749th star to be affixed to the Walk of Fame is Liotta’s star, which can be seen at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard. Lupita Sanchez Cornejo, the chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, presided over the ceremony. Taron Egerton, Liotta’s Black Bird co-star, and Cocaine Bear director Elizabeth Banks spoke as special guests. Karsen Liotta, the actor’s daughter, accepted the star on her late father’s behalf.
During the event, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez released the following statement: “Ray Liotta’s passing was heartbreaking to the entertainment world. His all-around career made him a triple threat. His on-screen personas will live on in the annals of Hollywood cinema forever.
Ray Liotta’s Final Film Is Now Playing in Theaters
Liotta has starred in more than 60 motion pictures, with Cocaine Bear being one of his most recent. When it came to choosing a cast member for Cocaine Bear, the renowned actor who had roles in movies like Goodfellas and Field of Dreams stood out. According to Banks, he was ideal for the part she had in mind for him in the horror comedy movie.
Banks reflects, “He definitely made an impression on me. “I enjoy giving performers the chance to express different parts of themselves or to perhaps have a bit more fun than what audiences are used to seeing. I was aware that Ray had a naughty streak and a glint in his eye that we could employ to great advantage in Cocaine Bear.
She continues, “To this day, it still shocks me that this movie will be released and he won’t be here to celebrate with us, but his spirit is in the movie. He arrived pretty cheerfully to work on this, eh, stupid movie about a cocaine-addled bear. He’ll be remembered for a variety of things, including the fact that he was a fantastic guy to work with, which breaks my heart.
Liotta was a dedicated worker right up until the end; he died in his sleep while on set in the Dominican Republic filming a movie called Hazardous Waters. Fans as well as others who knew the actor were equally as shocked by his untimely and unexpected demise. Age-wise, he was 67.
