Mr. X Origin Story In Resident Evil Explained – What Kind Of Hybrid Is Mr.X?

One of the most lucrative survival horror franchises available is Resident Evil. Every game follows a set of rules, and each monster has a narrative. Even though these are typically “made in a lab using the t-Virus,” they generally include recorded histories, so you usually understand why zombies are battling alongside sharks and human-fly hybrids. The Tyrant or Mr. X, however, is the most infamous Resident Evil villain.

The worst kind of stalker is Mr. X. Mr. X stalks you at every turn in the “B Scenario” of the original Resident Evil 2 (i.e., your second playthrough with a different character), but he is a far more constant menace in the remake. Mr. X has made multiple appearances, yet his identity is still unknown. He’s in Raccoon City, but why? What is his objective? Where did he buy a fedora in his size?

To get the answers to these urgent inquiries, you could sift through innumerable in-game logs, or you could read this article. Your decision is yours.

You can’t make a T-103 without a T-002

Mr. X is a member of the T-103 line of Tyrants and is formally known to the Umbrella crew as T-00. Tyrant T-103s are an improved version of the T-002 and are based on it. The majority of t-Virus-mutated people turn into mindless, lumbering zombies, but some change into Tyrants. The Tyrant-to-zombie ratio was unsatisfactory early on in the Tyrant Project, so Umbrella scientists created a new t-Virus strain that eventually gave rise to the T-002. The T-002 was significantly superior to the brainless T-001 in that it was not only tougher and more resilient, but it also maintained the majority of its intelligence.

The T-002 was cloned once Umbrella management declared it a success, and the clone embryo was hidden in a lab beneath Racoon City. From then, adjustments were performed in order to produce a new model with a faster metabolism. And the T-002’s Achilles’ heel, free will, was corrected by scientists. The last thing an evil organisation needs from its bio organic weapons is for T-002s to begin thinking independently if they are left alone for an extended period of time.

After the sentience issue was resolved by Umbrella scientists, who also created “power limiters” to stop healing factors from evolving uncontrollably, they began mass producing T-103s, one of which was destined to become the fabled Mr. X.

The events of Resident Evil 2

Six T-103s were airdropped into Raccoon City by Umbrella Colonel Sergei Vladimir on the terrible night of September 29, 1998. The Delta Force was an elite group of soldiers, and five were dispatched to take them out, leading to mutually assured annihilation. T-00/Mr. X, the sixth T-103, was tasked with killing everyone inside the Racoon City Police Department and locating a G-Virus sample. Needless to say, it was a failure.

Mr. X’s goals involved clandestine operations, or as covert as you can get when you’re seven feet tall and can deadlift a helicopter one-handed after being hit by one. The other T-103s, on the other hand, were sent on a seek and destroy mission. The designers of the game gave Mr. X a facelift to underscore this. His fedora completes the disguise, and his diminutive stature compared to other Tyrants gives him a more human-like appearance (at least up close). But even if he lacks free will, Mr. X is linked to his hat because if you take it off of him, he charges at you aggressively. Mr. X doesn’t let anyone risk his prized accessory, scarcely moving when you throw a bomb at his eyes.
