Shannon Epstein Photo: Decoding the Tale Behind the Image

Since the authorities seized Shannon Epstein at the airport, her photo has been making the rounds on the internet.

After a heated and violent confrontation during her deplaning on November 24, Shannon Epstein, the 25-year-old niece of former New Jersey governor Chris Christie (R), was placed under arrest at Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.

Epstein reportedly inquired about “smuggling cocaine” from a family she suspected might be Latino while traveling, according to the Times-Picayune.

When she had questioned those who seemed to be Latino if they were drug mules, she had been ejected from an aircraft.

Before boarding the Spirit Airlines flight to New Jersey on November 24 at around 6 a.m., Shannon Epstein, 25, reportedly asked a nearby family—whom she believed to be Latino—if they were “smuggling cocaine.”

She became “more and more agitated.” When airline employees chose to remove her off the aircraft and the plane returned to the gate, the situation at the airport got worse.

Epstein resisted deputies’ attempts to arrest her at the airport. According to the Times-Picayune, Rivarde stated, “She injured six deputies in the scuffle, biting one and breaking the skin on the arm and kicking another in the groin.” “There, paramedics treated them.”

Epstein yelled that the deputies would lose their jobs or go to jail while bragging about her family’s connections to powerful people and her uncle’s friendship with former President Donald Trump, according to Rivarde. Calls to two of Chris Christie’s phone numbers on Friday went unanswered.

Rivarde claims that in order to arrest Epstein and transport her to the airport security office, seven deputies were needed. She was screaming profanities and trying to bite the deputies, he said.

Thanksgiving Day found Epstein being held at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center after he posted a $10,750 bail and was charged with six counts of violence against a police officer. The lawsuit will most likely be heard by a federal court next.

Criminal scandals are regular in the Christie family

The Christie family has a history of involvement in criminal scandals.

Epstein’s uncle ran against Trump in the 2016 Republican primary and then became friends with him for a period of years. He notoriously closed a New Jersey bridge during rush hour as a form of retaliation against a mayor who declined to back his reelection campaign.

In 2016, after the former governor withdrew from the race himself, Mr. Christie advised Mr. Trump’s campaign.

Later, he supported the president’s second impeachment following the assault on the US Capitol in 2021.

Her court date is January 23. After receiving bail, she was set free.

Shannon Epstein and Chris Christie were unavailable for comment on Saturday night.
