Will the Show End After Season 4?
The fourth season of Succession will be its final one, it was revealed in February. “Who knows about the psychological reasons, but the creative ones were that it felt extremely useful to not make the final, final decision for ages,” Jesse Armstrong remarked upon announcing the development. You know, the word “Succession” has a promise.
“I never imagined that this could last forever. I’ve always had a vague sense of the end in my head. Before we began writing season 4 in about November or December 2021, I got together with a few of my colleagues writers and sort of said, “Look, I think this might be it. What do you think, though?
We experimented with other options: We could produce a few brief seasons or something a little more robust and comprehensive. The decision to end was made during the writing process and even before we began filming. I told the cast, “I’m not 100% sure, but I think this is it,” to the cast. The creator continued, “I didn’t want to bullshit them.
