Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home are underneath.
An update on those The Amazing Spider-Man 3 rumours was provided by Andrew Garfield. I guess, sort of.
When asked whether his character Peter Parker will return to the big screen, the Tick, Tick, Boom! actor provided the ideal reaction when speaking with The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet at the 2022 Oscars on Sunday, March 27.
As many fans are already aware, Garfield reprised his role as Peter in Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man: No Way Home while still donning the red and blue suit from The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel. Tobey Maguire, who portrayed the superhero in Sam Raimi’s trilogy from the 2000s, completed the Spidey cast.
“No one’s going to believe anything I say ever again,” said Andrew Garfield when asked for an update on ‘The Amazing #SpiderMan 3′ pic.twitter.com/ArlvtS201e

“No more updates from me, Garfield stated on the red carpet, adding that no one would ever believe another thing he said. That is my issue.”
The Oscar-nominated actor was obviously reflecting on the time when leaks of his and Maguire’s cameos in No Way Home were a constant problem. The actors clearly had been sworn to secrecy and tried their best not to spoil the surprise for audiences, as is frequently the case with the MCU.
Garfield made an effort to seem genuine in interviews conducted before the movie’s December release when he claimed that the concept of him playing Peter once more was humorous. Even further, he dispelled the rumour in front of close friends, including Emma Stone, his co-star in The Amazing Spider-Man.
We’re not sure if we would trust Garfield at this point because the spider is effectively out of the bag, but we’d be thrilled to see him Peter in a well-deserved third movie of his own.
