The Film is Based on Stephen King’s Short Story
The first edition of The Boogeyman appeared in Cavalier in 1973. The narrative followed a psychiatrist as he heard the patient’s accusation that a ghostly apparition had harmed him. The doctor denied the assertion, but he ultimately came under attack by the monster. A 2005 feature film was also made based on the short story.
“A teenage girl and her small sister find themselves harassed by a malevolent presence in their house and battle to convince their mourning father to pay attention before it is too late,” according to the official synopsis of the upcoming film.
The Boogeyman Star Cast
Sadie Harper, a teenage girl, is portrayed in the movie by Yellowjackets actress Sophie Thatcher, and Sawyer Harper, her younger sister, is portrayed by Bird Box actress Vivien Lyra Blair. Their father, Dr. Will Harper, is portrayed by Chris Messina. Madison Hu, LisaGay Hamilton, Marin Ireland, David Dastmalchian, and Lester Billings round up the rest of the cast.
The screenplay was adapted by A Quiet Place screenwriting duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods and Black Swan author Mark Heyman. The movie is directed by Rob Savage, a well-known host, while Scott Beck, Emily Morris, and Bryan Woods are the executive producers. Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps are in charge of producing the movie.
