The Company You Keep on ABC will only be on the air for one season. The Julia Cohen-created series, My Fellow Citizens!, which stars Milo Ventimiglia and Catherine Haena Kim, was influenced by the South Korean television programme of the same name. The 10-episode first season of the show, which debuted on ABC in February, was completed earlier this month. The Company You Keep has reportedly been cancelled by ABC after one season due to low ratings that reached a series low with the season finale. There are currently no plans to create a second season.
The news was announced as a number of shows were recently cancelled. Alaska Daily and Big Sky were both cancelled by ABC after one and three seasons, respectively, along with The Company You Keep. After five seasons, CBS controversially decided to cancel S.W.A.T., but they later changed their mind in response to complaints from viewers and star Shemar Moore. However, the network did axe the one-season runs of True Lies and East New York. In the meantime, Mayim Bialik’s Call Me Kate was cancelled by FOX after three seasons, upsetting some fans.
The show also included Sarah Wayne Callies, Polly Draper, William Fichtner, Tim Chiou, James Saito, Freda Foh Shen, and Felisah Terrell in addition to Ventimiglia and Kim. Along with Russ Cundiff, Todd Harthan, Jon M. Chu, Ciatlin Foito, Ben Younger, Lindsay Goffman, Julia Cohen, and Phil Klemmer, Ventimiglia also worked as an executive producer on The Company You Keep. Nick Paveonetti, Deanna Harris, and Michael Grey all contributed to its production.
