Good News For Venom Lovers, Sony Confirmed ‘Venom 3’ During CinemaCon

  • DCS

The following Venom episode is on the way! Venom 3 will soon be released, Sony Pictures officially stated today at CinemaCon. In the first two movies, Tom Hardy portrayed Eddie Brock, a journalist who acquires superhuman abilities after becoming the host to an alien symbiote known as Venom. Fans can only anticipate the promise that there will be a third instalment in the series because no cast members have been formally revealed or a release date set.

Given the success of the two previous films, Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, this revelation shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. In 2018, Venom grossed a staggering $856 million from domestic and foreign markets, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage made $502 million in 2021.

Venom, a beloved Marvel character, made his live-action debut in Spider-Man 3 in 2007, where Eddie Brock was portrayed by Topher Grace. Then, in 2018, Hardy stepped up to assume the role, not only portraying Eddie but also providing the symbiote’s voice in his own whimsical and caustic way. Fans took to the relationship between an acerbic Venom and his rough-and-tumble host, and the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde interpretation of the Marvel character proved to be a successful formula.

Eddie and Venom were seen relaxing at the end of Let There Be Carnage, but their trip was quickly cut short by some multiverse antics. Eddie watched as J. Jonah Jameson revealed Peter Parker’s identity as Spider-Man after teleporting into a different dimension. Then, in a brief cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, we saw Eddie sipping on a beer in an MCU bar while Spider-Man fought off his band of rogues, bewildered as to where he was. All of the rogues, including Eddie, return to their universe when Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) casts his spell to correct the wrongs and make everyone forget about Peter Parker. Eddie unknowingly discards a piece of the Venom symbiote after enjoying his drink, though.
