Vikings: Valhalla Season 2 Trailer Brings New Challenges Beyond Scandinavia

On Wednesday, Netflix unveiled the official trailer and announced the day when Vikings: Valhalla season 2 would be released. The series is a follow-up to the popular History Channel program Vikings and is set 100 years after its events.

After the events of Kattegat’s fall, which made the three illustrious Vikings fugitives throughout Scandinavia, the upcoming season recounts the travels of Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter, and Harald Sigurdsson. Vikings: Valhalla Season 2 Trailer and Release Date

The breathtaking settings of Constantinople and Jómsborg are shown in the teaser, which also highlights the difficulties Leif, Freydis, and Harald confront when they are thrust into a hostile environment.

The three are now forced to battle for their lives. The footage also features the dramatic combat scenes and bloody fights that make Vikings famous. Season 2’s eight episodes will debut on Netflix on January 12, 2023. the trailer is below.

According to the season’s official summary, “Vikings: Valhalla follows the heroic exploits of some of the most famous Vikings ever to have lived, including the great explorer Leif Eriksson, his fiery and independent sister Freydis Eriksdotter, and the ambitious Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson.”

“In Season Two, our protagonists are still reeling from the devastating collapse of Kattegat, an event that has crushed their hopes and changed the course of their lives. They are forced to put their aspirations and courage to the test in worlds outside the Kattegat fjords after finding themselves abruptly on the run in Scandinavia, it continues.

The New Season will Explore the World Beyond Scandinavia and Northern Europe

Jeb Stuart, the show’s creator, discussed what to anticipate from the future season and stated that the program will travel well beyond Scandinavia and Northern Europe. The entire premise of Season 2 is to force these three Scandinavian-based heroes outside of their comfort zones, according to Stuart.

“Thelma and Louise on the Dnieper River is the setting for Harald and Leif’s road trip in Season 2. They will set off on this amazing voyage together. The tough environment of Pomerania is where Freyds must travel.

“The season will demonstrate that you can occasionally get into problems even when you hang out with individuals who are just like you, eat like you, and speak like you. Therefore, you must stir the cauldron, as I believe the Vikings did. And they did it superbly, more so than most other cultures, he continued.

Vikings: Valhalla Season 2 Cast and Crew

Sam Corlett as Leif Eriksson, Frida Gustavsson as Freydis Eriksdotter, and Leo Suter as Harald Sigurdsson will all be back for the second season. Along with David Oakes as Godwin and Caroline Henderson as Jarl Haakon, Bradley Freegard plays King Cnut, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson plays Olaf Haraldsson, and Laura Berlin plays Queen Emma.
