Is Vin Diesel in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’? The Rumors Are Finally Put to Rest

James Cameron has released a follow-up to Avatar, titled Avatar: The Way of Water, nearly twenty years after the first Avatar movie. The majority of the original cast members are returning, but a number of new actors have joined the group, including Kate Winslet, Jermaine Clement, Bailey Bass, and others.

Fans of Avatar are particularly interested in learning whether one star will appear in the movie. There are rumors that Vin Diesel, who is most known for his roles in the Fast and the Furious series and Guardians of the Galaxy, will appear in Avatar 2. Are the rumors true in any way? What you should know is as follows.

Is Vin Diesel in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’?

In 2019, Vin Diesel uploaded a video of himself on set with James Cameron, sparking speculation that he would appear in Avatar: The Way of Water. James Cameron remarked in the video, “We are 2, 3, 4, and 5 on the Avatar set. This is a top-secret project with my old friend Vin, similar to the Manhattan Project.”

When he leaves here, James said, “We’re actually going to give him t he shiny stuff from Men In Black so he has no memory at all of what he’s witnessed.” Vin said, “Yes, you missed this. However, I’ll admit that it’s long overdue because there is one Hollywood figure I’ve always wanted to collaborate with and gain knowledge from.”

Later, during an interview for the Avengers: Endgame premiere with Entertainment Tonight, Vin said that his involvement in the Avatar film series was due to his friendship with actress Zoe Saldaa, who plays Neytiri in the Avatar trilogy and Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Zoe Saldaa is perhaps my favorite actor in the entire cast and the person to whom I am closest. Thus, Avatar. Consequently, or one of the reasons, I’m doing Avatar.”

Vin claimed he would be “doing Avatar,” yet he doesn’t appear in the movie at all. Vin Diesel is not in Avatar 2 even though Google autofill appears to think he is in the movie. He is not featured in the movie’s credits on IMDB and did not attend the global premiere.

But given his professional connections with James Cameron and Zoe Saldaa, perhaps when his calendar opens up he will show up in Avatar 3.
