Sultan Kösen – the Tallest Person in the World

Sultan Kosen is the tallest person in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records. Out of the 10 confirmed and verifiable cases in the history of humanity, he is the first man to ever stand taller than 8 feet. Sultan is a Turkish farmer who works part-time. He stood 8 feet 1 inch tall when he assumed the prestigious title of tallest man alive.

Sultan reached his 26th birthday two years later. In Ankara, he was measured once more. He had grown to a height of 8 feet, 2.8 inches by that point.

Growing Up

Sultan was conceived on December 10, 1982. It’s interesting to note that he didn’t begin his amazing growth spurt until he was 10 years old. His parents and four siblings, who make up the remainder of his family, are all ordinary height. Sultan was so enormous that he was never able to complete his education. However, in order to provide for his family, he began working as a farmer.

Pituitary gigantism, a disorder that Sultan suffers from, is the root cause of his unusual growth and enormous height. It is the outcome of excessive growth hormone production.

The Advantage and Disadvantages of being The Tallest Man in the World

Sultan jokingly outlined the benefits of being tall in an interview. He can assist his mother with errands and regular tasks like hanging curtains or replacing broken bulbs, among others. The condition does have a lot of drawbacks, though. Finding the appropriate size for shoes, clothing, or even driving a car becomes difficult.

More Records in His Name

Sultan Koser has a number of records in addition to being the tallest man ever. He holds the record for having the biggest hands of any living being. His hands are each 28.5 centimetres long from wrist to middle finger tip.

He once held the record for having the biggest foot on a live being. His right foot was 35.5 centimetres long, while his left foot was 36.5 centimetres long.

What is Pituitary Gigantism?

The brain’s pituitary gland releases human growth hormone. A tumour can harm a gland, causing it to emit too much or too little hormone. When the disease is discharged excessively, it might result in the overproduction of huge hands, painful joints, and bone thickening.

Where is Sultan Now?

In his private life, Sultan is wed to Merve Dibo. His wife is five feet nine inches tall and nine years his junior. They were introduced via a common friend.

Sultan has fulfilled many of his goals since since he was named the Guinness World Records record holder. He received vital medical care to prevent him from deteriorating further. He also left farming for Hollywood in 2016, landing a part in the film Achieving the Impossible.
