Doja Cat loses 250k Instagram followers after bashing her ‘creepy fans’
Doja Cat, a Grammy Award-winning musician, recently lost 250k Instagram followers as a result of a fight she had with her followers in the open. The renowned musician’s followers refer to themselves as “Kittenz.”
“My followers don’t go by the name s-t. You should put down your phone, find a job, and assist your parents with the house if you refer to yourself as a “kitten” or “f-king “kittenz,” she wrote on Threads.
Soon after, Doja’s devoted followers brought up the fact that she was the one who first used the nickname many years ago. On the other hand, she claimed that the phrase “an alcoholic teen” was her own invention.
The singer of Get Into It was then questioned by a fan who had entered the debate about what they ought to modify their social media accounts to. Doja later advised her followers to “delete” their “entire account” and “rethink everything.”
The native of California also criticised her followers for posting on social media using her legal name, Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini. She said in her message, “You making my government name your sn [screenname] is creepy as f—k.”
Shortly after, a Taylor Swift fan account gushed to Doja about how her supporters had been by her side “through thick and thin” and that she would be nothing without them. “Nobody forced you,” the musician retorted, “[I don’t know] why you’re talking to me like you’re my mother bitch, you sound like a crazy person.”
How did the netizens react to Doja Cat’s mean behavior towards her fans?
Many of Doja’s largest fan pages, including The Kittens Room, Doja HQ, and Doja Cat News, cancelled their Twitter accounts in response to her critical remark. Then, several users responded to Doja’s disparaging comments about her supporters.
The singer’s cat-inspired ensemble at the 2023 Met Gala was clarified by a fan, who wrote on Twitter: “Doja is being mean to her fans for bc [sic] of the word kitten like her name isn’t doja CAT and she wasn’t dressed as a cat and meowed her way through an entire interview a few months ago oh she has lost her mind.”
A second admirer then came forward to call the singer’s recent tattoos “demonic.” Doja has since deleted her Threads account. She has also disabled the Instagram commenting feature in addition to this.
