The majority of the plot lines explored throughout the first season of “Willow,” the Disney+ series serving as a prequel to the 1988 fantasy film of the same name, come to satisfying conclusions. Those that are still unfinished give some hints as to the season 2’s plot. The questers battle Lili / the Crone (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers), the Gales, and an evil Airk in “Willow” episode 8, “Children of The Wyrm” (Dempsey Bryk). In order to accept their destiny, Elora (Ellie Bamber) and Kit (Ruby Cruz) must confront their anxieties and concerns. What you might want to know about “Willow” season 1’s conclusion is provided here. Spoilers follow.
Willow Episode 8 Recap
After the previous episode’s cliffhanger, the season finale picks up the story as Elora and Kit enter the Immemorial City and run into Airk. Short-haired Airk played by Dempsey Bryk resembles Val Kilmer in every way. The two girls can sense that Airk is seriously off-balance right away. Despite the fact that he is physically present with them, the Crone’s jail has imprisoned his mind. And Kit is the first to confess that her brother has a tendency to be somewhat credulous. After drinking from the fountain’s yellowish liquid in the penultimate episode, Airk starts to see Lili. His full transformation into Queen Bavmorda’s heir is shown in the conclusion.
The Crone is waiting for the two girls as Lili as Airk leads them into the shrine. She seduces them with promises of granting their every wish, but Kit and Elora are able to escape, and Elora even overcomes her crush on Airk in the process.
Graydon (Tony Revolori), Jade (Erin Kellyman), and Thraxus Boorman (Amar Chadha-Patel) make the decision to take the leap of faith and travel to Immemorial City while standing at the brink of the Shattered Sea. They attempt to enter the temple covertly but are taken in by the Crone’s delusion and transformed into guests for Airk and Elora’s wedding. Elora rebels against the Crone, but she is unable to use her abilities because of her anxieties. Willow shows up at that point and dispels the delusion.
Willow Ending: Is Graydon Dead? Is He in the Future?
Elora attempts to utilise Cherlindrea’s Wand during her encounter with the Crone, but at first the evil sorceress defeats her. Graydon snatches up the wand and attacks the Crone with all of his passion. He comes close to defeating the Crone’s defences, but his magic exhausts itself first. Graydon is thrown through the yellow portal and disintegrates, making his friends to believe he has died as Elora and the other questers watch in horror.
The survivors make a promise to keep Graydon’s memory alive and leave near the episode’s conclusion. Elora joins the others despite the fact that she appears to be feeling something. In the season’s concluding scene, Graydon awakens surrounded by several dead bodies in what appears to be the battlefield from Willow’s dreams. He is either stuck in the future or in a world that is under the grip of the evil godlike entity that looks to be the series’ main adversary. The Wyrm itself, or something impersonating Elora, emerges in front of Graydon. Unlike the other “Elora,” this one has short hair and isn’t troubled by anxieties. The demonic Elora urges Graydon to join her as she stands in front of her army of nightmare creatures.
The probable relationship between Elora and Graydon, which is anticipated to be one of the main plot points in the upcoming second season, is definitely the focus of the writers’ efforts to develop a storyline. Before things get better between them, this connection may become hostile if Graydon is taken under the control of the evil Elora or Wyrm. While Graydon may not be as vulnerable as Airk, he killed his older brother while ostensibly under the influence of an entity. He therefore possesses evil, which the Wyrm will probably use against him.
Why Does the Kymerian Cuirass work for Kit and not others?
The Kymerian Cuirass is located by the quest-givers beneath the troll city of Skellin. created by Annabel, a fairy of the grove, ten thousand years ago, so that one of her sons, Thuul, can beat the other, Tiberius. The Lux Arcana, which Annabel forges from the Cuirass made of pure Khromium, is used to activate the Cuirass. When he vanished, Madmartigan had been seeking for it. In an effort to defend the world against the Crone, Sorsha told Willow that she had sent her husband in search of the Cuirass. She hoped Elora would lead a normal life and didn’t want to burden her with her fate.
But everything happens exactly as it was meant to. Elora is a member of the Kymerian imperial family, according to Willow. It seems sense that the Cuirass works for her rather than Boorman or Allagash given that Kit emerges as her defender in this episode.
Is Lili / the Crone Dead?
In “Willow,” Lili or the Crone is undoubtedly dead. The Crone is the main antagonist of the first season of the show, however it is revealed that she also reports to the Wyrm. Lili used to be Cashmere’s princess in the past. She was kidnapped by the Order of the Wyrm and taken to the Immemorial City, where she was brainwashed in the same way that Airk was and transformed into the Crone.
Years later, the Order would also bring Bavmorda there, and the Crone would transform her into the Wyrm’s Harbinger—the person who would set the Wyrm free from its captivity below the surface of the planet. Sorsha, Airk, and Kit were the victims of the Crone after Bavmorda’s death. Elora faces her fears and defeats the Crone in the season finale. When the forces of good and evil clash, the former prevails, slaying the Crone.
Does Airk Remain the Harbinger of the Wyrm?
The Crone turns Airk into the Harbinger as she is dying. Even Jade and Kit working together earlier were ineffective against the corrupted Airk. If the Cuirass hadn’t intervened, Airk would have easily won using the Harbinger’s abilities. After defeating her brother, Kit struggles with the decision of whether to kill him. In the end, Willow gives Kit the diamond by removing it from his staff. She uses it to connect with Airk, bringing him back by bringing up their shared childhood.
The Wyrm is still active as the season draws to a close. The Immemorial City is now enraged as a result of the happenings there. We are aware that Airk is not under its control. Whether this is a temporary situation or not is still up in the air. He may still have some corruption inside of him, and it may come back at some point. It is obvious that Kit strengthened their bond with magic in order to bring Airk back. It’s also possible that she has been contaminated and that it will eventually show itself.
