Prepare yourselves to see Matthew McConaughey portray Elvis Presley! In the new adult animated series Agent Elvis on Netflix, the actor will provide the voice of an animated version of the renowned musician.
The streaming service has now debuted a teaser video for the series, which depicts the King of Rock and Roll leading a double life as a spy, after releasing the first poster for the show last month. Read on to see the clip and learn more about the program.
Matthew McConaughey to Voice Elvis Presley in Netflix’s Agent Elvis
In the teaser, McConaughey is introduced as Presley, a character who is hired by a covert organization to battle terrorists and lunatics. The musician makes jokes about the 007 series in the video, but he doesn’t explain why he decided to become a spy. A variety of historical occurrences from the 1960s and 1970s are also lampooned in the humorous undertone.
Presley is depicted as being the first person to set foot on the moon in 1969. In a meeting with President Nixon before to the Watergate affair, he is also seen. In a voice-over, McConaughey claims that “man does the impossible occasionally.”
“Man sometimes manages to do the unthinkable. It only requires one person with a dream. Because a man may alter the world when he dreams, he continues. The Netflix original series Agent Elvis will debut in March of this year. The major streaming service has not yet provided the precise release date.
The Series was Announced in 2019
Agent King, sometimes known as Agent Elvis, was originally introduced in 2019. Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is secretly enrolled in a government spy program to fight the evil forces that threaten the nation he loves, all the while continuing to work as the King of Rock and Roll during the day.
John Eddie collaborates with Mike Arnold as a co-showrunner and co-writer. McConaughey, Shannon Prynoski, Kevin Noel, Chris Prynoski, Jamie Salter, Antonio Canobbio, Marc Rosen, Ben Kalina, and Corey Salter are among the executive producers. The show has been co-executively produced by Fletcher Moules.
Robert Valley, a nominee for an Academy Award, developed Elvis Presley’s animated appearance. John Varvatos, a fashion designer, created the character’s attire. The Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated series was created by Sony Pictures Animation in collaboration with Authentic Brands Group and Titmouse.
Elvis’ Wife has Created the Show
The show was created by John Eddie and Priscilla Presley, Elvis Presley’s wife. From the time Elvis was a young boy, he always dreamed of being the superhero combating crime and protecting the world, Priscilla had stated during the project’s introduction in 2019. Agent King consents to his request.
She continued, “My co-creator John Eddie and I are so happy to be working with Netflix and Sony Animation on this incredible project and getting the chance to introduce the world to a new Elvis.
