However, her grandparents have always been there for her, and the difficulties forged a remarkable closeness between Mary and her brother. Mary had unfortunately been in an abusive relationship in the past, and she even disclosed how her ex-boyfriend had cheated on her ten times. She consequently experienced severe trust issues, which Brandan could only resolve by remaining at her side through video conference at all times.
