10 Best TV Shows Of 2022 – Unmissable Tv Series To Binge Watch

  • DCS

Television was not a factor in 2022. No, it started producing amazing stuff at the beginning of the year and never stopped. It must be acknowledged that there was a tonne of excellent television across many genres; we adored shows like Reservation Dogs and Abbott Elementary. But a few shows climbed to the top when it came to television. Take a moment to reflect with us on this fantastic year of television as we get ready for 2023. The top TV shows of 2022, according to us, are listed below.

Andor ( Streaming on Disney+)

One of the most potent Star Wars films to date is known as Rogue One. We were therefore happy to learn that Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor would return in a two-season prequel to the standalone film. The concepts of sacrifice and disobedience are central to Rogue One, and Andor intensifies these thoughts. Andor takes us to the level of the names that history has forgotten in a way that high fantasy epics rarely explore. Without the shining shield of the protagonist’s strength, it examines the selfless sacrifices that so many people must make in order to achieve freedom. Andor leads us on an intense and emotional trip as Cassian starts to comprehend what it is to be a part of something bigger. This tale also has a profound impact on everyone currently residing on the planet.

MCU TV Shows: Moon Knight/Ms. Marvel/She-Hulk ( Streaming on Disney+)

Net
The MCU TV series from 2022 absolutely hit it out of the park, making them one of the top contenders for the year’s best shows. We received extremely diverse television programming for very different audiences from Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk. Moon Knight woven a gripping mystery with some mythical references, hitting the high notes of a drama. Ms. Marvel, on the other hand, provided a coming-of-age story that focused on family and identity and expertly balanced serious and entirely lighthearted plotlines. Last but not least, She-Hulk provided us with one of the funniest and most easily absorbed MCU series to date, putting a new spin on the courtroom and the Marvel universe. Together, these three programmes added to the MCU as a whole, delighted comic book lovers with Easter eggs, and drew viewers who were unfamiliar with the characters. a well-done work.

Our Flag Means Death ( Streaming on HBO Max)

HBO Max
Our Flag Means Death, the underrated show, is back. It’s possible that nobody could have predicted that Our Flag Means Death would be a success. But it did deliver. Our Flag Means Death is a sitcom that combines elements of comedy, drama, and sitcom. But what it most possesses is a strong passion for and dedication to the queerness of its narrative. On Our Flag Means Death, almost every character is at least a little bit gay in a variety of ways. Every LGBT character and plot was a priceless gift for viewers everywhere who were starved for representation. Rarely do two LGBT characters have a storyline that they can follow through to the end like Stede Bonnet and Blackbeard did. They fought, argued, kissed, went on excursions, and had serious misunderstandings of one another. In other words, they had access to all of the primary love couple’s activities.

Despite the tragedy that befell our beloved couple, we can wait with confidence for season two because we know their significance to the story is undeniable.

Peacemaker ( Streaming on HBO Max)

These days, HBO Max Superhero programmes are everywhere. However, James Gunn’s Peacemaker stands out from the competition. Even though it appears ludicrous, this absurd show draws you in with its unlikable lead before revealing important topics like overcoming trauma and enduring poisonous environments. And who can resist its amazing opening credits dance, of course? The violence and vulgar humour in Peacemaker, like The Boys, might have fallen short of expectations. But through a thorough investigation of humanity, these parts of Peacemaker find harmony. We wouldn’t have predicted that The Suicide Squad spinoff we needed, Peacemaker, would be… But it ended up being the exact one we deserved.

Severance ( Streaming on Apple TV+)

Apple TV+
Without at least one solid sci-fi thriller, our list of the finest TV series of 2022 would be incomplete. Severance is a gratifying sci-fi thriller. It effectively constructed a gripping, suspenseful story that borders on actual terror using the corporate office, one of the settings that many people are most familiar with. The psychological thriller produced a tight first season that was full with intriguing riddles and plenty of space for fan speculation. Severance reimagined what an office drama looks like in all but name. And we anticipate talking about season two around the water cooler.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ( Streaming on Paramount+)

In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Spock and Pike are seen seated on the Enterprise’s bridge.
Paramount+
We were transported back into the world of The Original Series by Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The manner this serial told its story, though, was completely novel. Strange New Worlds had just enough familiarity to feel familiar while leaving enough of room for original ideas. It did this by following the voyages of the USS Enterprise under the direction of Captain Christopher Pike, who led the ship before the famed James T. Kirk. Furthermore, Anson Mount with an apron alone makes this TV programme one of the greatest of 2022, let’s face it. Of course, its sharp writing, insightful character analysis, and contemporary Star Trek tale, which has all of the franchise’s original heart, don’t hurt either. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has a lot in store for us in the future, and we can’t wait to see it.

Stranger Things Season 4 ( Streaming on Netflix)

Netflix
Every new season of Stranger Things is a significant occasion. However, Stranger Things 4 not only lived up to the anticipation, it exceeded it. And as a result, the franchise was once again named one of the year’s top TV shows. Stranger Things 4 juggled numerous plotlines and characters, yet it nevertheless crafted a gripping narrative that provided most viewers a cause to cheer for. Some of our favourite relationships from Stranger Things 4 were strengthened, including that between Robin and Steve, Lucas and Max, Steve and Dustin, Will and Mike, and others. But it also brought us to fresh, endearing personalities like Argyle and Eddie Munson, who are both huge fan favorites. Vecna and his tentacles, the show’s main antagonists, undoubtedly stole the show by providing us with a villain whose backstory satisfactorily addresses some of the drama’s most pressing issues.

Only if Stranger Things 5 brought Eddie back to life could Stranger Things 4 get our respect. If it happened, we might as well declare the fourth season of Stranger Things to be the best television of 2022. Netflix, it’s your turn.

The Rings of Power ( Streaming on Prime Video)

Amazon Video
Even spanning a season, a show rarely succeeds from beginning to end without making some sort of significant error. There are several storytelling problems that are challenging to avoid, whether a show rushes a plot, kills a character who still has a backstory to tell, or mishandles the conclusion. But The Rings of Power managed to pull off as spotless a season as one could hope for. The narrative of the show was not hurried along, and there were no abrupt changes created just for shock factor. It refrained from succumbing to the plot temptation of misunderstanding and, in a welcome change, occasionally allowed characters to make the right decisions. The Rings of Power prioritised the character development of its cast above anything else. The fact that the people actually lived out their stories rather than serving as mere props for predetermined story elements made all the difference.

There was a lot of pressure on The Rings of Power. After all, cherished representations of the world already exist in both literary and filmic forms. The Rings of Power became one of the top television programmes of 2022 because the series did not crumble under the pressure and instead rose to the challenge.

The Boys Season 3 ( Streaming on Prime Video)

Amazon Video
The Boys has always been a favourite and season three was no different. The most recent season was actually one of the best seasons of the show overall, not just one of the best TV seasons from 2022.

Season three of The Boys produced more bizarre, unsettling, grisly, nasty, and generally bizarre scenes than any other season. Who could not be delighted by octopus dreams, enormous anatomical marvels, bursting men, and good old-fashioned vomit? Not to add that Homelander still holds the title of one of the greatest villains in the annals of television. The Boys maintained its sharp societal satire, which elevates it above simple shock value, despite its cheap thrills. The Boys attacked white Christian nationalism’s perils harder than ever. And it kept reminding us that this grim, absurd world of superheroes is only a short distance away from our own.

The Best TV Shows of 2022

Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix, and Prime Video
The top television programmes of 2022 took their respective nerdy subgenres and brought us something new, inventive, and nuanced. There was a tonne of IP, but there were also some fresh concepts mixed in with the rest. We can only hope that the television industry continues to surpass itself as 2023 approaches. Salutations to you, 2022, and the incredible hours of stories you have provided for us.
