The Netflix Show ‘Blockbuster’ Canceled After One Season

Netflix cancelled the comedy series “Blockbuster” after just one season of broadcasting. The outcome was that the 10-episode, one-season television series made its debut on November 3 for the first time ever.

Being a one-camera workplace comedy, it was a comedy series that starred the staff at the final Blockbuster Video location in the globe.

Blockbuster On Netflix Has Been Canceled After A Single Season

Blockbuster, a comedy series on Netflix, has been cancelled after one season on the streaming platform. The two characters in this workplace comedy starring Melissa Fumero and Randall Park work to keep the last Blockbuster in operation in the United States open in order to keep their employment at the company.

A ten-episode American television series called Blockbuster made its Netflix premiere on November 3. The show only had only one season. The show failed to make it into the top 10 of the American rankings on launch day and throughout its first week on the streaming platform. In addition, according to Netflix, only two nations—Australia and Canada—listed the show among the top 10.

The series’ critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes now stands at 22%, the lowest possible rating, indicating that critics did not like it. Hutchinson’s review of the show on Collider revealed that it received a C, though. Despite appreciating the cast, he called it a generic workplace comedy because it is nearly impossible to tell it apart from other programmes of the same genre.

It is also important to point out that the show left several unresolved narrative strands that were preparing for a second season, which we now know won’t happen. Blockbuster is a series that, in the end, you’re more likely to return to the video store before you find the opportunity to finish.

This Is Just One Of The Latest Netflix Series To Be Canceled After Just One Season

With The Midnight Club’s one-season cancellation and Joe Barton’s The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself’s cancellation in December, this is yet another single-season Netflix series to be dropped from the service.

Warriors Nun’s stunning cancellation just a little over a month after the start of its second season was equally unexpected. All three of these programmes have garnered high ratings from critics, but unlike Blockbuster, they haven’t had much of an effect on viewing trends.

A Look At The Stars Of “Blockbuster”

Tyler Alvarez, Madeleine Arthur, Olga Merediz, JB Smoove, Kamala Fairburn, and Tyler Alvarez (Crush), Madeleine Arthur (Devil in Ohio), and Olga Merediz are also featured in Blockbuster alongside Park and Fumero.

Along with being the show’s creator, Vanessa Ramos (Superstore, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), David Caspe (Black Monday), and Jackie Clarke (Happy Endings) are also the show’s executive producer and writer. The production company under which John Davis worked as executive producer was Davis Entertainment, which he co-owned with John Fox.

The whole Blockbuster television series, including the sole season, is streamable on Netflix. So if you still need to watch the series, you can do so there. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you informed about more famous rumours in the future.
