Fantastic Beasts 4 : There May Not Be Another FB Movie But Is This End Of Franchise?

  • DCS

The Fantastic Beasts spin-off must finish the franchise and move on, according to a new Fantastic Beasts update. Three of the anticipated five Fantastic Beasts films have been released since the franchise’s launch in 2016, with Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore being the most recent. In addition to exploring the lives of Newt Scamander, the author of the Harry Potter text “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” and Dumbledore’s complicated relationship with the evil Grindelwald, Fantastic Beasts dives deeper into the Wizarding World. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore was the franchise’s weakest outing to date, despite being a spin-off of the well-liked Harry Potter books and films.

The fact that Eddie Redmayne admitted in an interview (conducted by IndieWire) that he knows nothing about Fantastic Beasts 4 confirms the perception that the franchise is doomed. Redmayne claimed that although he enjoys his role as Newt, J.K. Rowling, David Yates, and Warner are ultimately responsible for the film’s success. The success of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which was a prerequisite for Fantastic Beasts 4, as well as its lacklustre box office receipts and mixed critical reception, make the release of the fourth movie less likely. Additionally, it would be preferable to move on from Fantastic Beasts and explore other aspects of the Wizarding World on film given the controversies surrounding the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Fantastic Beasts 4 Looks Very Unlikely Now

Unfortunately, it is quite doubtful that it will happen given Redmayne’s revelation that he hasn’t heard anything regarding the creation of Fantastic Beasts 4 yet. In addition to having a weak box office showing, the Fantastic Beasts series has been dogged with controversy. Throughout the course of the franchise’s development, Ezra Miller, who plays Credence, has been detained numerous times; Johnny Depp was replaced as Grindelwald by Mads Mikkelson; and Rowling herself has been the subject of ongoing controversy because of remarks she made about the trans community.

Yates is now unavailable to direct Fantastic Beasts 4 because he is directing Pain Hustlers on Netflix. Although a five-part series was originally intended for the franchise, the problems with Fantastic Beasts make it highly improbable that a fourth instalment would be released. However, the studio hasn’t made an official announcement, so there’s still a remote chance that Fantastic Beasts 4 may proceed.

Fantastic Beasts 4 Isn’t Needed (Secrets Of Dumbledore Ended Things)

Despite the intentions for five films, it might not be a bad thing if The Secrets of Dumbledore marks the end of the Fantastic Beasts franchise because the plot is essentially concluded. They ultimately get to meet, and it is revealed that Credence is Aberforth Dumbledore’s son. However, Credence is seen to be dying and has a limited amount of time left. Although this strand has potential for additional development, it also serves as a perfect method to end Credence’s involvement in the narrative should Warner Bros. decide to part ways with Miller.

Additionally, Grindelwald’s blood covenant with Dumbledore is broken, and even though Grindelwald escapes, the legend of Dumbledore’s epic battle in which he finally vanquished Grindelwald is well known across the Wizarding World. This conflict would eventually appear in the Fantastic Beasts films, but since the result is already known, it is not necessary. There are a few unfinished business items, such as the status of Newt and Tina’s relationship, but Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore ended in a way that the subsequent two movies are not required.

Harry Potter Should Have A Big Future Beyond Fantastic Beasts

The Wizarding World on cinema does not have to stop with Fantastic Beasts. There are many possible directions for additional Harry Potter spin-offs, including an HBO TV series. A TV programme centred on the four Marauders and their time at Hogwarts is a popular concept among enthusiasts. Popular characters from the franchise including James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew have only ever been seen together in flashbacks. James Potter’s transformation from a bully adds a lot of complexity to their story, and HBO could tell their story in great detail by turning it into a TV series.

The concept of adapting the first battle against Voldemort to the big screen is also well-liked, especially in light of the tragic inevitability of some characters’ deaths, including James and Lily Potter or the parents of Neville Longbottom. A spin-off of The Order of the Phoenix’s first war would offer the original films much more context because The Order of the Phoenix’s work is prominent in the Harry Potter books. The Hogwarts Legacy games and Harry Potter World at Universal Studios are just two examples of how popular Harry Potter and the Wizarding World continues to be. Given the popularity of the stage production, The Cursed Child’s release as a movie would be a huge success for the franchise. Despite the fact that Fantastic Beasts was cancelled, the Wizarding World on cinema can still be successful.
