On May 26, 2010, Gary Coleman’s wife called 911 in a panic because the former child star had apparently fallen and split his head open from the back. Blood was everywhere, and she was afraid for his life.
Shannon told the people who called for help, “He just got home. When I heard a loud crash, I went downstairs. Blood is everywhere, and I don’t know what happened. I have no idea why he fell. There was blood everywhere, so I couldn’t do anything.”
She said that Gary was out and his mouth was bubbling when she first saw him.
During the five minutes she talked to 911 operators, she said Garry woke up, sat up, and tried to stand up, even though she told him not to.
“He’s now sitting up, but the back of his head is all bloody,” she told the dispatcher. I saw that the back of his head was dirty and full of blood when I looked at it. Garry, don’t move. Don’t move, all right? “Keep your head down.”
Shannon said that at one point, when he was arguing with Gary Coleman, his groans made it hard to hear what he was saying.
Gary, who was 42 years old and used to be a child star, had a blood clot in his brain. The Utah Valley Regional Medical Center is where he was taken.
He was given help to stay alive, but he died from his illness on May 28, 2010.
