The voice cast of Hotel Transylvania 4 features a bevvy of well-known actors, many of whom bore little similarity to the hideous characters they play in the film. Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, the fourth movie in its respective franchise, was released exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in January 2022 as a result of a number of COVID-related delays, which caused Sony Pictures to cancel the movie’s release plans and subsequently sell the distribution rights to Amazon. Several of Hotel Transylvania 4’s primary characters had their voice actors replaced between 2020 and 2021 while the movie was still in production as a result of these delays.
As the name implies, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania gives the fourth film in the franchise a much-needed narrative overhaul. Before an incident with a Monster, Dracula considers selling the hotel that serves as the setting for the first three Hotel Transylvania films. The vampire patriarch and his cronies are transformed into humans by Ray. His human nephew Johnny is also transformed, and the Dracula family sets off for South America in an effort to return to their natural states.
Several of the main vocal cast members of Hotel Transylvania: Transformania also switch bodies, continuing the fun of form-switching. Brad Abell and impressionist Brian Hull have replaced veteran voice actor Adam Sandler and Kevin James in their respective roles as the Count Dracula and Frankenstein from the horrific animated films. Here is the voice cast for Hotel Transylvania 4, along with information about the real-life appearances of the characters and previous roles played by each performer.
Being Mavis’ husband, Dracula’s son-in-law, Dennis’ father, and the lone socially outcast human in the Dracula family, Johnny has a difficult life in the Hotel Transylvania universe. But in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, Johnny defies convention when he transforms into a monster while his family members experience a decidedly human life. Andy Samberg, host of Baking It and former cast member of Saturday Night Live, provides the voice of Johnny in the animated Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs series as well as Hot Rod and I Love You, Man.
Brad Abrell – Frankenstein
Frank, who was the only monster to be transformed into a human, appreciates his experience in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania the most because he is liberated from his typically bulky, electrified physique. Brad Abrell, a well-known voice actor, portrays Frankenstein. Among his outstanding vocal credits are the Men in Black franchise and the Final Fantasy videogame series. Comedy icon Kevin James, who left the project in 2020 along with Sandler, is replaced by Abrell.
Brian Hull – Count Dracula
In Hotel Transylvania 4, Brian Hull replaces Adam Sandler as Count Dracula, the conflicted patriarch and enduring hotel owner. Brian Hull is a YouTube star and impressionist. Hull’s ability to mimic Sandler’s voice was probably a deciding factor in this casting choice, as Dracula’s tone in the most recent Hotel Transylvania film remained fairly similar despite this casting shift. Hull demonstrated his impressionist skills and suitability for the part in early 2021 by voicing Dracula in the animated franchise spin-off Monster Pets.
David Spade – Griffin
David Spade first achieved fame in the 1990s as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. He then starred alongside late comedy great Chris Farley in the movies Tommy Boy and Black Sheep. More recently, Spade has appeared in a number of Netflix films with his longtime pal Adam Sandler, including The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over, The Wrong Missy, and the first three Hotel Transylvania movies. In Hotel Transylvania 4, Spade portrays Griffin, an invisible character hilariously adapted from the original 1897 sci-fi novels by H.G. Wells.
Fran Drescher – Eunice
the extraordinary As Eunice, the wife of the frequently portrayed Frankenstein, Fran Drescher makes a third appearance in Hotel Transylvania. Eunice, like Wanda before her, is intelligent enough to avoid drinking the contaminated hotel water, which results in plenty of “I told you so’s” for her revived partner. Drescher made her acting debut in 2014’s Cinderella as stepmother Madame. She has since appeared in more than 40 feature films, and she is presently enjoying a successful career on Broadway.
Jim Gaffigan – Abraham Van Helsing
Abraham, the renowned but now-retired monster hunter, makes a comeback to set off the outrageous body-morphing shenanigans in Hotel Transylvania 4. His Monster Ray is undoubtedly a marvel to behold, but due to its peculiar workings, the characters of the franchise must go a long way to South America. Jim Gaffigan, a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer, who has worked on films including The Love Guru and Super Troopers 2, portrays Abraham.
Kathryn Hahn – Ericka Van Helsing
Ericka, Dracula’s wife and the great-granddaughter of Abraham Van Helsing, frequently speaks out against her husband’s more obstinate tendencies. She is powerless to stop the Monster Ray from being broken, however, and the entire Dracula family is forced to travel the world in search of a precious crystal to repair the transmogrifying device. Comedy queen Kathryn Hahn, who recently received an unknown role in Rian Johnson’s eagerly anticipated Knives Out 2, plays Ericka Van Helsing.
Keegan-Michael Key – Murray
In Hotel Transylvania 4’s Monster Ray accident, Murray the mummy is transformed into a human, like many of his monstrous allies. Murray is voiced by the comedic powerhouse Keegan-Michael Key, who will also be Toad in a future (yet unannounced) Super Mario film. Voice roles in Toy Story 4 and the live-action remake of The Lion King are among Key’s other notable cinematic credits.
Molly Shannon – Wanda
Molly Shannon is Wanda Wanda, the other half of Wayne, and she typically makes cameos in the Hotel Transylvania series as a less-than-ferocious werewolf. She does not drink from the ray-contaminated fountain that transforms Wayne and numerous other monsters into regular people, thus unlike her husband, she is spared the humiliation of being a human. Molly Shannon, who provides Wanda’s voice, has an extensive and varied film and television resume. She most recently starred in HBO Max’s landmark film The White Lotus.
Selena Gomez – Mavis Dracula
Mavis, Johnny’s devoted wife, has endured many hardships alongside her husband as she pursued a human marriage throughout the Hotel Transylvania series. In Hotel Transylvania 4, Mavis and Johnny are given the chance to realise their own vision for the hotel, leading to the Monster Ray mayhem that develops as Dracula is unable to let go of his cherished structure. American singer, actor, and producer Selena Gomez provides the voice of Mavis. Selena Gomez’s most recent film work includes Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York and Jim Jarmusch’s critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic drama The Dead Don’t Die.
Steve Buscemi – Wayne
Following the breakdown of the ray early in Hotel Transylvania 4, Steve Buscemi reprises his role as the enduringly well-liked werewolf Wayne, who discovers himself in a human body devoid of Lycan blood. Wayne’s voice actor, Steve Buscemi, requires no introduction given his outstanding body of work over the last 40 years. Buscemi is also widely used in the Hollywood animation business; some of his well-known voice performances include Templeton in Charlotte’s Web, Francis in The Boss Baby, and Randall in the Monsters, Inc. trilogy.
Hotel Transylvania 4 Supporting Cast & Characters
Dennis, played by Asher Blinkoff, is the reason Johnny and Mavis decided to renovate Hotel Transylvania. Dennis is the couple’s dhampir son. Asher Blinkoff, a young voice actor best known for his roles in Sing 2 and The Jungle Book as well as the Hotel Transylvania series, provides the voice of Dennis.
Winnie, played by Zoe Berri, is a close friend and confidante of Dennis. She is the child of Wayne and Wanda, two werewolves. The young actor, who also portrays Eliza in Live Stream, has only received two credits to date for her work. Her role in Hotel Transylvania 4 is one of those two.
Party Monster Tyler “Ninja” Blevins: Tyler Blevins is an American Twitch streamer, YouTuber, and professional gamer who goes by the online alias Ninja. Blevin’s film career got off to a flying start in 2021 because to his voice work in Hotel Transylvania, which came after a brief cameo in the summer blockbuster Free Guy.
Genndy Tartakovsky plays Blobby, who struggles to adapt to his new, less sentient lifestyle. Blobby’s transformation from a gelatinous monster into a genuine restaurant-style jelly is the kind of crazy fun Hotel Transylvania 4 excels at. Genndy Tartakovsky, best known for developing numerous animated programmes on Cartoon Network, including Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars, provides the voice of Blobby in Hotel Transylvania 4.
