Is Stephen Dead? Did Stephen Schneider Leave The Righteous Gemstones?

Stephen Schneider plays the part of Stephen, a significant supporting figure in the third season of HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones.” He is a musician who tours with Judy, and they started dating after that. Judy keeps repeating that they never had sex, although they did kiss and dry-hump each other. When Judy got back home, she felt bad and ended the relationship, even giving Stephen $10,000, but her husband BJ soon learns about the affair. We’ve got you covered if the events of season 3 episode 6, “For Out of the Heart Comes Evil Thoughts,” have you wondering if Stephen is no longer alive and Schneider is no longer a part of the show. Spoilers follow.

Is Stephen Dead?

The episode opens with Judy unsuccessfully attempting to calm down a raging and heartbroken BJ. The season opens with the revelation that Stephen’s wife Kristy (Casey Wilson) is violent to him. She threatens to reveal Judy’s adultery to the Gemstone congregation in this episode and demands $500,000 to remain quiet. In the end, the church chooses to give her the money she requests.

Jesse resolves to assist BJ after witnessing him sob in front of the guests. He even provides the other man brass knuckles while teaching him how to punch people. Even after the settlement, Stephen continues to message Judy, wanting her to see him one final time. BJ responds to him by posing as Judy. When BJ arrives at the agreed-upon meeting location, he doesn’t immediately run into Stephen, leaving viewers to speculate about Stephen’s possible death. Stephen is sitting on a bed, naked, and enjoying himself when BJ finally finds him. BJ seemed to have knocked Stephen out with a punch. However, Stephen awakens when BJ spits on the other man, and then he pummels BJ. But BJ ultimately prevails by striking his opponent while he is completely exposed and most exposed. BJ tells Judy he hopes she likes the man she has made him into when he gets home.

BJ’s timidity has persisted throughout the series as one of his defining traits. In this episode, he eventually moves on. Some viewers could believe Stephen is dead as he stops moving before BJ leaves, but that is unlikely. Even though Stephen’s passing could lead to fresh storylines, it would be too similar to what occurred to the undercover journalist Thaniel Block in the previous season. But keeping the man alive also opens some intriguing possibilities. By suing BJ, Stephen will be able to extort more money from the church. Furthermore, his relationship with his abusive wife is probably headed in a certain direction, and if Stephen passes away following what transpired in this episode, it won’t.

Did Stephen Schneider Leave The Righteous Gemstones?

We will most likely see Schneider again in this season’s remaining episodes because it is quite possible that his character is still alive. Schneider thanked the series’ cast and crew on Instagram on the night of the third season premiere. He wrote, “Tonight gemstones s3 premieres.” It seemed strange to be a part of this season. These folks are not only comedy geniuses but also f[expletive]ing amazing people. I’m grateful that you made me feel so at home. Total professional high point.
