One day, Tajima Uchiha, the father of Izuna and Madara, learned that Madara frequently dated a member of the opposing Senju clan.
Now, he gave Madara a mission to spy on Hashirama and, by extension, the Senju clan. Tajima and Izuna pursued Madara when he next met with Hashirama to make sure Madara agreed to the plan. But in order for Hashirama to escape, Madara told him of the trap. Izuna and Tajima now emerged from hiding to go after Hashirama.
Butsuma Senju and Tobirama Senju emerged from concealment at the same moment. Tajima and Butsuma got into a fight, while Izuna and Tobirama also got into a fight. The two fathers assaulted each other’s boys knowing that they were evenly matched and that only the one in charge could prevail. One of the fathers might lose control and the war if he witnessed one of his sons dying in combat.
However, Madara and Hashirama stepped in at that precise moment to defend their younger brothers. Now that it was a three-on-three fight, Madara realised that they would lose because Hashirama was stronger than him. Izuna found it hard to understand that his big brother wasn’t the strongest person. Izuna and Madara, his older brother, were both born into the illustrious Uchiha clan.
They both had tremendous talent and quickly learned how to handle their Sharingan. Both were equally powerful, always striving to develop, and put in a lot of training time to sharpen their abilities. In the end, the Mangekyou Sharingan was given to both.
How Izuna got the Mangekyou Sharingan is still unknown. It was a difficult time since Izuna and Madara were obliged to use their Mangekyou Sharingans more and more frequently due to their ongoing confrontations with other clans, particularly the Senju clan.
