Jansen Panettiere, Hayden Panettiere’s younger brother, went away on February 19 in New York City at the age of 28. The actress and her family have spoken out a week after the tragedy and revealed the official reason for their loved one’s passing.
In a statement honouring Jansen, The Panettiere said that he passed away from “cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve issues.” Jansen, who was also an actress, appeared in a few Disney movies and television programmes.

The family praised Jansen for having “a heart that could be seen in his eyes, a charm that could be seen in his dazzling, engaging grin, a soul that could be seen in his skillful and revealing paintings, and the love of life in his caustic humour.”
They said, “We love you so much Jansen and you will be in our hearts forever. His charisma, warmth, sympathy for others, and his creative spirit will remain forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered.”
“While it offers little solace, the Medical Examiner indicated Jansen’s untimely passing was due to cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve issues,” the family wrote in a statement revealing Jansen’s cause of death.
“We really appreciate the outpouring of love and support towards our family as we navigate this unspeakable loss,” the family continued, “and ask that we be gifted with our privacy during this time of grieving.”
Jansen Passed Away at his Home on February 19
On February 19, the actor’s body was discovered at his apartment in Upstate New York. His pals were concerned when he failed to show up for a business meeting that day. They hurried to his house and discovered him in a chair, dead. He had already passed away when they attempted CPR and dialled 911.
In 2002, Jansen made his acting debut in Even Stevens on the Disney Channel. Then he appeared in other movies and TV shows, such as Hope & Faith, The Last Day of Summer, The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry, The Walking Dead, and How High 2. Additionally, he made occasional theatre appearances, including in Dustin Lance Black’s play 8 in 2012.
Hayden and Jansen Shared a Close Bond

Jasnen was close to his older sister and they had a wonderful bond. The Forger and Racing Stripes are two projects on which the siblings collaborated. A touching Instagram snapshot of Jansen and his sister receiving a haircut was posted by Jansen just a few weeks before he passed away.
He wrote at the time, “Not the first haircut she’s tried to give me. He is a pretty balanced boy, as Hayden stated of her brother in an interview from back in 2007. He has a pure heart and would never wish anyone harm. I should occasionally learn something from him.
