She was born in Denmark—and it’s a big part of their relationship.
Although Emma Wall and Jeremy Strong first met in New York City (more on that below), Emma Wall’s native Denmark continues to play a significant role in their lives. When they decided to wed in a real castle (named Dragsholm Slot) there in 2016, they not only made it the site of one of their largest love and life milestones, they also still divide their time between Brooklyn and Denmark.
The actor admitted to The Guardian in 2021, “I love Denmark. It strikes me as a very calm and peaceful environment. For me, it feels like a haven.
She’s a psychiatrist AND a documentary filmmaker.
If Emma Wall seems to be a name you haven’t heard much about, it’s probably because she is incredibly busy juggling several successful careers. She is a child psychiatrist, and recent highlights of her career include working with the Los Angeles foster care system as well as serving as a UCLA instructor and practising clinician.
And Emma’s road to her current, incredibly great job was the MOST impressive. She completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University before flying to Oxford University Medical School, where she earned a degree with honours, according to People. She then completed her fellowship and residency at Columbia University and Cornell University. Oh, and they add that she “has worked with refugees and volunteered in hospitals around the world.”
And only one of her careers is that. She is a documentary filmmaker in the little spare time she can find between her successful medical practise and her cross-continental lifestyle married to a famous actor (how’s that for an envious-inspiring sentence opener?).
Together with Betsy Hershey, Emma co-founded Guest House Productions. Guerilla Habeas, a documentary about two attorneys defending immigrants facing deportation in the United States, was co-directed by Emma and Betsy Hershey.
“We started on this film at a time when I think so many of us were really appalled by what was happening in the immigration system,” she said of the documentary in 2022. Therefore, we began this at the beginning of 2019 in response to the Muslim ban and in response to Trump’s zero-tolerance policy, which resulted in the separation of families at the border. We felt terribly helpless and hopeless, as were many other people in this country, I believe. We felt as though there were serious injustices and human rights breaches occurring, but we had no idea what to do.

Jeremy and Emma were included on the guest list for this year’s incredibly elite Met Gala.
