Kim Petra revealed her gender in the most recent episode of the show on Friday after her childhood images went viral.
She was born in August 1992 and is currently a California resident.
She self-released music under her own label, BunHead Records, from 2016 to 2020 until signing a record deal with Amigo and Republic Records in 2021.
Petras started her musical recording career in her adolescence.
Before releasing a full album, she independently released a number of singles between 2017 and 2019, including “I Don’t Want It at All,” “Heart to Break,” and “1, 2, 3 Dayz Up,” which are together referred to as “Era 1.”
On the Dance/Electronic Songs chart of Billboard, these singles saw significant success.
Clarity and Turn Off the Light are two full-length projects that Petras independently published in 2019.
Petras signed a record deal with Republic Records in 2021, and the following year, her EP, “Slut Pop,” was released. This was the first thing she worked on with Republic.
Later, in 2022, Petras won the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 with her joint track “Unholy” with Sam Smith, which peaked at number one on both charts.
She became the first openly transgender solo artist to hold the top spot in the US charts thanks to her incredible accomplishment.
Petras also made history in 2023 when she won the Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Unholy” as the first openly transgender performer, joining Wendy Carlos as the second transgender woman to do so.
Kim Petras dropped her most awaited debut album
Kim Petras is a pop phenomenon who just released her debut album, “Feed the Beast,” and who defies any type of binary categorization based on her gender identity.
Kim Petras is committed to joining the musical elite that she has long admired.
The 30-year-old singer of the smash song “Alone” released her major-label debut album, “Feed the Beast,” on Friday. She has devoted her life to achieving her goal of being a pop star.
She has proven her songwriting talent, fought transphobia, and carved out her own way.
The Grammy-winning performer had the audience spellbound during her visit on a morning show with renditions of her well-known songs, including “Heart to Break,” “Thousand Pieces,” “Alone,” and “King of Hearts” from her recently released album, “Feed the Beast.”
Although Fergie’s solo performance on the Today Show gained prominence almost 15 years ago, the incident continues to be referenced in various memes, which cutely mock her aerial feats while performing live.
She mostly sees herself as an artist.
She spoke. “Being transgender is only a part of who I am,”
Her unchanging goal has been to pursue this career since she was 12 years old, and she thinks she’s just getting started.
Kim Petra’s & Sam’s collaboration
The gripping song “Unholy,” which Kim Petras and Sam Smith co-wrote last autumn, reached the top of the charts and made history by being the first No. 1 hit for openly transgender and non-binary musicians, respectively.
Another historic first came with their Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, which was given in recognition of their extraordinary accomplishment.
For Petras, “Unholy” marked a turning point in her career because it helped her achieve a much-needed breakthrough and became her most popular song to date.
Petras struggled to get her music released prior to the publication of this duet in September, and her label shelved another finished album.
“It was a difficult situation that ultimately led to the biggest moment in my career,” Petras reflects on this trying time. I’m so happy that I persisted and recovered.
Petras has shown the same steadfast will in all facets of life since he was a little child.
Despite being given the gender of a man at birth, Petras, who was born in Cologne, Germany, and reared by her parents Lutz and Konni in the countryside, has always known she identifies as a woman.
For many years, business leaders ignored Petras, saying her gender identity prevented her from being a successful mainstream musician.
She bucked these predictions in 2021, though, when she inked a record deal with Republic Records, a major record company known for signing musicians like Ariana Grande and The Weeknd.
