One of the nicest things we did this year had to be binge watching Kotaro Lives Alone this past weekend.
Undoubtedly, a lot of anime lovers share your sentiments because they, too, were enthralled by this uplifting yet amusing Netflix series and have since watched it a few more times. The only thing left to do is watch together with us to enjoy this fantastic animation!
There are still a ton of unanswered mysteries, like the intricacies of Kotaro’s mother’s identity and the location of his father, so if you watch the show and, by chance, complete it in one sitting like we did, you’re definitely excitedly anticipating the release of a second season. There’s a fair probability that season 2 will cover these subjects and much more, so season 1 may not be the best place to start if you want to understand more about our toddler who loves feudal Japan. If season 2 is released, that is.

Kotaro Lives Alone season 2 updates
Kotaro Lives Alone’s second season does not appear to be in the works at the moment, which is unfortunate given that the final episode of the first season appeared to be more of a series conclusion than a season finale. Kotaro Sato’s journey also seems to have come full circle as he now understands that living alone was not really the source of his genuine strength.
With all of this said, a season 2 of this anime might end up feeling a little unnecessary. Despite this, we are reasonably optimistic that a second season would not encounter this issue because there is still a vast amount of material to be told, whether it be canonical or not.
Kotaro may continue to acquire valuable life lessons or he may continue to make new pals. Maybe we could find out more about Shin Karino’s career and determine whether he’ll ever become successful. Maybe in the future we’ll get to see Mizuki. The opportunities are limitless, but only time will tell if any of this will come to pass.
