Peacock’s “Love Island USA,” which is based on a British series of the same name, has been amusing viewers of dating shows since 2019. For being unpredictable when it comes to the lives of the different cast members, the reality series has won many fans. Nearly every aspect of Johnnie Garcia and Scott van-der-Sluis’ relationship was something viewers eagerly anticipated in the recently concluded fifth season of the show. Because of this, many people have wondered if the two are still dating, and we’re going to find out!
Johnnie and Scott’s Love Island USA Journey
Johnnie Garcia spent about a week in the villa with all the normal male cast members after joining the Peacock programme as one of the Casa Amor VIPs. While there, she grew particularly close to Leonardo “Leo” Dionicio, who shared her opinion that their relationship was unique. Things became a little more problematic after the two ended up sleeping together because of Leo’s former relationship with Kassandra “Kassy” Castillo. Leo was torn about who to pick for the next recoupling, but Johnnie assumed that his behaviours showed his preference for her.
Leo made the decision to partner with Johnnie during the subsequent recoupling ceremony. But when Kassy returned to the villa with Matia Marcantuoni, he was immediately overcome with shame and sadness. Leo retreated from Johnnie as a result of Kassy’s outspoken declarations that she would never forgive him for what he had done, which crushed her heart. Johnnie and Leo permanently ended their relationship after much back and forth and discussions between the three parties engaged in this triangle.
When ‘Love Island’ star Scott van der Sluis entered the house following this specific arc, he had his sights set on both Johnnie and Kassy. As for Johnnie, she was becoming closer to Matia and it appeared that Kassy shared her interest in her. Matia was finally eliminated as a result of Kassy selecting Leo as her partner at the final recoupling ceremony while Johnnie opted for Scott.
The cast members’ families conveyed their congrats to the competitors as the finals drew near. To Johnnie and Scott’s surprise, it appeared that their loved ones supported their decisions. They were dumped immediately before the finals by the public vote and failed to place in the top four, perhaps as a result of their recent relationship and Johnnie’s difficult past on the show.

Johnnie Garcia and Scott van-der-Sluis have not provided any updates on their relationship since their time on the Peacock show. Many people are left to question if the two have continued to explore their relationship in the real world given how little time they really spent together while on the show. The fact that they are stationed on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean may be one of the biggest barriers in this endeavour because it will be difficult for them to meet.

However, given that they still follow one other on social media, we do think that they are at least amicable. Following the conclusion of her trip on the show, Johnnie has stated that she has no animosity towards Kassy and even appears to have partially forgave Leo. Despite this, the general public continues to speculate about her love life.
