Arnold, Maria’s husband, was enthusiastic about entering politics and contributing back to the USA even if Maria had grown disinterested in it. The ‘Total Recall’ singer admitted in the Netflix series that Maria was deeply affected merely by the mention about the same and did not want to return to that world. He acknowledged that her extreme hesitation caused him to abandon his initial plans to run for governor of California. However, a special recall election against then-Gov. Grey Davis was held in 2003.
At this time, Maria made the decision to support her husband’s candidature for the job.
