Young adult book to film adaptations are a distinct movie genre unto itself. There was a time when YA dystopian stories were the subject of the most well-liked films and movie franchises. These flicks, from Divergent to The Hunger Games, were a pop culture sensation. The Maze Runner series is one of the most talked-about properties under this heading. These films are based on a James Dashner series of young adult novels.
Thomas, the primary character, is seen via Thomas’ eyes as the narrative begins. Thomas walks into a type of camp of young boys hiding in the middle of a vast maze full of unknown dangers. The entire ensemble was instrumental in making this narrative a franchise success. Many readers of the book were satisfied with how the characters were translated from the page to the screen. Aml Ameen
When a bunch of young boys are left alone, exposed, and forced to fend for themselves in unheard-of circumstances, what do you need? a pioneer. Aml Ameen played Alby, the commander of the Gladers, in The Maze Runner. All of the group respects Alby because they perceive him as the voice of reason. Ameen starred in Till Death in 2021 and both directed and starred in Boxing Day after the franchise was finished. He also appeared in the plays The Porter and I May Destroy You.
Blake Cooper
The first time Blake Cooper appeared on our screens, he was a young, talented actor playing Chuck in The Maze Runner. One of those characters that no one could ever detest is Chuck. If you were wondering what Cooper has been doing lately, his acting career is still in its early stages. Cooper has appeared in a few films since the conclusion of this enormously popular trilogy, including 2018’s Measure of a Man and his role as Chance 16 in the 2020 family drama Chance.
Dylan O’Brien
Dylan O’Brien, who plays Thomas in this series, is undoubtedly the movie’s main star. O’Brien holds a particular place in our hearts as one of the most well-known actors in the entertainment business today thanks to his enormous contribution to this YA franchise. Since the end of this franchise, O’Brien has worked on a number of projects, including the comedy Love and Monsters and the 2022 movie Not Okay. He has recently gained popularity, though, mostly as a result of his performance in Sadie Sink and Taylor Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film.
Kaya Scodelario
Kaya Scodelario portrays Teresa, who we all know and love. One of those actors who can instantly steal a scene is Scodelario. Her range is something to be amazed at if we look at her career since the conclusion of the Maze Runner series. Scodelario played Carole Ann Boone in Netflix’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and appeared in the 2019 creature-horror film Crawl. She appeared in Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City in 2021, and her most recent roles were in The King’s Daughter and the holiday romance This Is Christmas in 2022.
Ki Hong Lee
Ki Hong Lee plays Minho, one of the boys tasked with locating them in the maze, in the film The Maze Runner. Since the release of Maze Runner, Lee has worked on a few film and television projects. His significant acting roles may be seen in Little America, Whisky Cavalier, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Patricia Clarkson
Actor Patricia Clarkson has essentially done it all. In the first movie, Clarkson played Ava Paige, who had a small but significant part. Outside of the dystopian series, Clarkson starred as Adora Crellin in the wonderful drama Sharp Objects from last year. In the biographical drama She Said, she co-stars with Carey Mulligan, Samantha Morton, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Andre Braugher as Rebecca Corbett.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster
The pop culture community should be accustomed to Thomas Brodie-Sangster’s face. You may remember him from the classic love comedy Love, Actually or maybe Nanny McPhee from 2004. Brodie-Sangster portrays one of Thomas’ closest and most devoted allies in The Maze Runner. The actor is now seen in the popular Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit as Benny Watts. He has exhibited his talents in a number of well-known genres, including Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and even the Disney animated series Phineas and Ferb.
Will Poulter
Can anyone ever forget Will Poulter? Poulter is skilled at commanding attention on screen, and following his outstanding performance as the main antagonist Gally in the first Maze Runner movie, he hasn’t slowed down. Poulter has participated in some truly famous moments of pop culture in the realm of entertainment. He played a part in The Suicide Squad, Midsommar, and Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.
