A classic house invasion film with tense scenes and complex family interactions is “Survive The Night.” It depicts narratives from both the invaders, the Granger Brothers, and the victims, the Clark family. Here is a list of suggestions for films with plots and concepts comparable to those in “Survive The Night.” The majority of these films that are comparable to “Survive The Night” are available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
Breaking In (2018)
The action-thriller movie “Breaking In,” which was directed by James McTeigue, also stars Gabrielle Union, Billy Burke, and Ajiona Alexus. Shaun Russell and her children are followed as they make their way to the countryside to visit Shaun’s father’s estate. When they arrive at the location, they discover that crime boss Eddie and his men Sam, Duncan, and Peter have already arrived, posing a threat to the home. Shaun barely makes it out of the burglar’s grasp as she searches for a way to save her children, Jasmine and Glover. Both “Breaking In” and “Survive The Night” tackle topics related to fatherhood and use a traditional hero as the protagonist of their tales.
Die Hard (1988)
Action movie ‘Die Hard,’ helmed by John McTiernan, starring Bruce Willis, Bonnie Bedelia, and Alan Rickman. This movie launches the “Die Hard” franchise and is based on Roderick Thorp’s 1979 novel “Nothing Lasts Forever.” On Christmas Eve, NYPD Detective John McClane finds himself taking hostages. McClane must take charge of the situation on his own while fending off numerous dangerous terrorists in order to save the citizens who are stranded on Nakatomi Plaza alongside him. John McClane must negotiate a hostage situation in order to free his family, much like Rich from “Survive The Night.”
Hostage (2005)
Bruce Willis, Kevin Pollak, Michelle Horn, and Serena Scott Thomas star in the action movie “Hostage,” which was directed by Florent-Emilio Siri. The movie centres on Jeff Talley, a fresh sheriff in a suburban small town dealing with a dangerous hostage situation. To confuse Talley, the criminal organisation kidnaps his wife and daughter. Former S.W.A.T. hostage negotiator Talley now has to decide whether to save his family or his town. Like “Survive The Night,” “Hostage” features comparable family and protection themes and a protagonist who is anxious to protect his family from an invading force.
Panic Room (2002)
The cast of David Fincher’s criminal thriller “Panic Room” includes Jodie Foster, Kristen Stewart, and Forest Whitaker, among others. Meg and Sarah, a mother-daughter team, are followed by the movie as they settle into their brand-new, four-story apartment in New York. The property was once owned by a billionaire who included a Panic Room with all the necessary amenities. He did, however, leave inside the house some very profitable bearer bonds.
Three burglars break in on Meg and Sarah’s first night there in search of the wealth. Similar to “Survive The Night,” “Panic Room” centres on a home invasion in which a parent struggles to protect their child. The movie “Panic Room” will probably appeal to fans of suspenseful thrillers who want to stay on the edge of their seats.
The children, however, realise they may be in serious trouble and that the vault conceals something far more terrible than they had anticipated until the couple, Dr. Richard Huggins and Ellen, return home. The storyline of the traditional house invasion in “The Owners” is given a twist by flipping the intruders’ role and making them the ones in peril. In addition, both films present multiple tales from opposing perspectives.
Villains (2019)
Dan Berk and Robert Olsen are the writers and directors of the black comedy horror movie “Villains.” Bill Skarsgrd, Maika Monroe, Kyra Sedgwick, and Jeffrey Donovan are the movie’s stars. The plot of the movie centres around a botched heist in which Mickey and Jules, two young crooks, break into a home and discover a young girl bound to the basement.
When the couple tries to help the child, they quickly realise that breaking into the home of the homicidal Gloria and George and their equally dangerous child, Sweetiepie, was a grave mistake. Check out “Villains” if you enjoy the specialised subgenre of home invasion horror films in general. While both “Survive The Night” and “Villains” share the fundamental premise of a home invasion, they each offer a vastly different experience.
Wait Until Dark (1967)
Terence Young’s film “Wait Until Dark,” one of the early home invasion thrillers, is one of the genre’s pioneers. Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin, Richard Crenna, and Jack Weston are the movie’s stars. Sam Hendrix purchases a doll after an odd meeting at the airport; little does Sam realise that the doll is actually hiding packets of heroin. A few days later, while Sam’s blind wife Susan is home alone, three burglars named Roat, Talman, and Carlino show up at his residence. Susan is now left to fend for herself in a race against time cat and mouse. Wait Until Dark is a must-see if “Survive The Night” piqued your interest in exploring further works in the same genre.
