O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s Obi-Wan Kenobi Character Poster As Kawlan Roken

Obi-Wan Kenobi’s journey is about to reach its conclusion for Star Wars fans. So far, the series has brought us back in contact with Ewan McGregor’s Kenobi, who reluctantly emerged from hiding to aid in the escape of a young Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) from the Empire’s grasp. Due to this, the renowned Jedi has had to face both familiar enemies from his past, including as his former Padawan Darth Vader, and new allies. O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s Kawlan Roken was one of the new characters featured in episode 4, and this most recent hero brought to a galaxy far, far away has now received a new character poster.

The character posters for Kenobi, Vader, and Leia are all in line with Roken’s image. The twin suns of Tatooine are visible in lieu of one of Roken’s eyes in this photograph of him against an ashy white background. Kenobi is positioned in front of the primary sun with his lightsaber in tow, same like in all the other posters.

Episode 4 portrayed itself as a traditional Star Wars rescue operation that in more ways than one matched the Death Star invasion from A New Hope. Roken was first seen working with Tala’s squad to sneak former Jedi through “The Path.” Similar to Kenobi, he is initially apprehensive about assisting Tala and Ben in their raid on Fortress Inquisitorius in order to save Leia. But he promptly offers to assist.

Although Roken wasn’t given the most screen time in the previous episode, he still received some of the strongest emotional beats. Jackson provided such a very heartbreaking performance as he told the narrative of how he lost his wife to the Empire because she was force sensitive. Roken appears to play a significant role in the last two episodes based on the poster and where the show left off. Given that Roken never stated explicitly that the Inquisitors killed his wife, it’s possible that we will learn more about what truly happened to her.

Whatever the case, the first four episodes of Kenobi have been a compelling character study about heroes who have been defeated coming to terms with their dark pasts. The series hasn’t shied away from exploring some difficult emotional terrain. It will be intriguing to watch how Roken figures into the plot’s resolution as a result. The fifth episode of the television show debuts on Wednesday, so we won’t have to wait long to find out. You may currently binge watch the first four episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ till the next chapter. The new character poster for Roken is seen below:
