Raya And The Last Dragon Cast: Which Actors Have Voiced The Characters!

Disney fans can’t get enough of the endearing and enlivening tale Raya and The Last Dragon, which is still making waves in the industry. The fact that Raya is the first Southeast Asian princess of the Mouse House makes this movie an excellent introduction to a different culture that isn’t often depicted on screen. While Raya’s personality may be novel and original, the voice actors who bring this cast to life on screen most certainly aren’t. In their most recent animated epic, Disney frequently employs some of the best stars in the business to voice the characters, and this movie is no exception. It’s time to discover how these performers actually seem as they could not always look like their roles.

Shawn S. Lealos updated this on August 17, 2022: The Disney animated film’s Raya cast features a number of famous names that play both heroes and villains. The film has been out for a year, and even though Encanto was the biggest Disney animated film of 2021, it was still among the best of the animated film genre in that year. Almost all of the Asian actors in the Raya cast were Asian, with the exception of Tuk Tuk, Raya’s ally. The actors gave excellent performances throughout the picture, which is now available on Disney+ for fans who might have missed it when it first came out in theatres early in 2021. It is a movie that every fan of animated films should watch.

Alan Tudyk / Tuk Tuk

Alan Tudyk provided the voice for Tuk Tuk, the bug/armadillo/pug hybrid that accompanied Raya as her pet and buddy, despite the fact that he doesn’t have any actual lines as a part of the Raya cast. Raya and the Last Dragon’s Tuk Tuk made noises but didn’t actually talk, offering Tudyk a part that could have been played by anyone.

Tudyk, however, is a well-known actor who has earned a cult following for his eccentric performances in both films and television. He has acted in films like Tucker & Dale vs. Evil and A Knight’s Tale. Most recently, he played an alien in the TV series Resident Alien.

Benja / Daniel Dae Kim

Fans have probably seen Daniel Dae Kim on television if they haven’t seen this face on the big screen. He has voice acting experience as well, in addition to appearing in New Amsterdam, Hawaii Five-O, The Good Doctor, and Lost.

Daniel Dae Kim has voiced many important cultural characters and is a strong supporter of Asian rights and chances. Benja plays the respectable roles of Raya’s father and the chief in Raya and the Last Dragon, and this is true of his character there as well.

Boun / Izaac Wang

With his voice for Boun, this young actor wowed the Disney world, and Raya is actually just his fourth acting role. The next largest thing Izaac Wang is recognised for, after a minor cameo in a television show, is the 2019 movie Good Boys.

Even though Wang is only 13 years old, it is obvious that he has a promising acting career ahead of him. Thanks to Boun’s strong personality, Disney Animation hasn’t had a stronger sidekick in a while.

Dang Hai / Sung Kang

Although Dang Hai is merely a small player in the Raya cast, true fans will recall the former Talon leader and how his persona is rather archaic and challenging to interpret. He was diplomatic, a little conceited, and mystifying.

The identity of the person behind the voice, Sung Kang, is not a secret. This seasoned actor has a long history in film, but fans undoubtedly recognise him best as Han from the Fast & Furious series.

François Chau / Wahn

An American actor from Cambodia named François Chau became most well-known for his roles in two science fiction TV programmes. He played Dr. Pierre Chang in the television series Lost, one of those conducting research on the enigmatic island. He played Jules-Pierre Mao, proprietor of Mao-Kwikowski Mercantile, in The Expanse.

Chau played the part of Wahn in the Raya cast. He had a small part in the film, but his work as a soldier in Fang’s army was crucial.

General Atitāya / Dichen Lachman

Dichen Lachman has recurrent roles in Animal Kingdom, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Altered Carbon, so he is undoubtedly a well-known figure in the television industry. Fortunately for fans, she transitioned to the film industry to voice General Atitya.

A general in the Fang’s army, General Atitya is a personable and intriguing figure. Fans who are unfamiliar with her from her voice can quickly switch to the small screen and binge all of her exciting and well-regarded series.

Little Noi / Thalia Tran

Despite being an extremely lovely toddler, Little Noi’s Raya cast member is surprisingly perceptive, crafty, and deceitful. Thalia Tran, who is actually just 15 years old and is just starting out in the business, provides her voice.

Tran appeared in the movie Little, and she has also played a few times on television. She appeared frequently, for instance, as Charlotte on Council of Dads. Fans certainly weren’t expecting a much older woman to voice this small toddler.

Lucille Soong / Dang Hu

Chinese American actor Lucille Soong, 83, has been performing since 1959. She had a few small parts in films including The Joy Luck Club and the Freaky Friday remake, but her performance as Grandma Jenny Huang in Fresh Off the Boat is when she became most well-known.

Soong assumed the character of Dang Hu in the Raya cast hardly a year after Fresh Off the Boat came to an end. Hu served as the chieftess of Talon, a floating city that prospered since the Druun couldn’t reach it due to the water.

Namaari / Gemma Chan

The main enemy in the Raya cast is Namaari, who is undoubtedly a formidable and clever figure. Gemma Chan, a voice actress, has performed several sympathetic characters throughout her career, proving that she is not, in fact, such a villain.

Fans would likely recognise her voice (and face) from the Crazy Rich Asians core cast, where she portrays the independent and feisty Astrid. Despite the fact that she has numerous other accomplishments to her record, fans are most likely to recognise her from this part.

Raya / Kelly Marie Tran

After bringing this tough, perceptive, and contemporary Disney princess to life, Kelly Marie Tran has unquestionably won over the hearts of her fans. Although fans may also recognise Tran from a specific supporting role in the Star Wars universe, Raya is her first significant major role.

She portrays Rose Tico, who has a significant role in the new trilogy that begins with The Last Jedi. If fans were unable to identify the source of her voice, it was probably from another hugely successful Disney franchise.

Sisu / Awkwafina

Even though Awkwafina is one of the cast’s biggest names and most recognisable faces, some fans might not have known that she provided the voice for the endearing and unforgettable Sisu, the water dragon who is all about saving humanity and having a good time.

Although this actress is best known for her comedic roles and her role as an internet influencer, acting is definitely not new to her. Along with The Farewell and Crazy Rich Asians, she also had roles in Ocean’s 8 and Jumanji: The Next Level.

Tong / Benedict Wong

Benedict Wong has more than 80 acting credits to his CV and has starred in a number of big-budget blockbusters, including a significant role as Wong in Doctor Strange, The Martian, and a Black Mirror episode.

Fans will instantly recognise this well-known visage, and they will also like his endearing and endearing voice as Tong, a big giant of a man with an even bigger heart, in Raya and the Last Dragon.

Virana / Sandra Oh

If viewers were aware that they were listening to a recognisable voice, they should immediately visit Grey’s Anatomy or Killing Eve, two roles in which she has excelled and won a Golden Globe.

She solely contributes her voice to the Raya cast, where she brings the nuanced Virana to life. If Sandra Oh fans still want more of her, they can binge on a number of other shows that she appears in.
